Hello Everyone! I have not done very well with my water intake this week nor have i done well with food intake. In the last 2 days i have managed to get down some chicken noodle soup and crab meat. I had my 3rd fill last Thursday and i think it is going to do me in. I cannot and do not even try to eat before 3:00 pm...if i do it is coming up.....i have to drink coffee or hot tea to expand the esophagus so that i can get some food down.......i love the restriction....but it is rough. By 3 pm i am hungry and my stomach is talking to me but i have to be careful of what i eat...which is a good thing....because thats the reason i got the band....but it takes some getting use to. I just cant grab and eat whatever i want anymore. I am now understanding where the chew, chew, chew and sip, sip, sip come in. Never had to do that with the first 2 fills. Question ? When i am eating and starting to get full my left shoulder and left side where port hurts...(like that gassy feeling) Anyone else have that? Thats how i know when to stop eating. Kinda cool i guess, its like a warning. Only last for about 5 minutes. So Poodles i am in the same boat as you as far as restriction. RandiL...Hang in there girl...i feel your pain...i know exactly how you feel i am sure all of us have been in your situation and it sucks. But we are in for brigther and better days...by this time next year girl we are all gonna be HOTTIES....LOL CHEER UP....YOUR NOT ALONE...WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!!!!! A FEW INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES: "NO ONE CAN CHEAT YOU OUT OF ULTIMATE SUCCESS EXCEPT YOUSELF." "TO CLIMB STEEP HILLS REQUIRES A SLOW PACE AT FIRST." "SUCCESS IS THE GOOD FORTUNE THAT COMES FROM ASPIRATION, DESPERATION, PERSPIRATION AND INSPIRATION."

:welcome: Ashby110 to bandland. I was in your situation too. I was banded June 5th and i was always hungry. The first two or three days after surgery were maybe the only days that i didnt really want to eat that much. It took plenty of self control because i could have eaten anything just like it was a normal day. Once you start getting your fills that will change. Take it from me you dont want to be overfilled or get something stuck because it is very unpleasant....It is down right miserable. Just hang in there. Glad your on the losing side now...Good Luck!!!

Hello JuneBees !! I received my third fill yesterday. I was given .5cc's. Still on liquids so not sure if it is working yet. I lost 7 pounds in 20 days...:clap2: I guess all that dancing is paying off. Got my water in last night by the hardest. The one thing that i have changed since we started the water challenge is that before i use to drink tea all day long since the water challenge i have only had one tea and one lemonade and the rest water. I have acquired a taste for water now and i crave it, and i Hated water. So this water challenge is really a great thing!!

:welcome::welcome:NDBeeKeeper !! Well i didnt get my water in sunday due to horrible PB. I did manage to get it all in Monday, Tuesday and finished 64 ounces so far for today. Last night i did some dancing for exercise. I had so much fun. My son and his gf were dancing with me...we danced for over an hour. We did your typical line dances. I think i will continue to do this at least it is something.

I just bought a bike last week and i managed to ride 1 mile and was about to die. The seat is also uncomfortable on this one and i have the gel seat. I know i am out of shape but i thought it wouldnt be anything to ride my bike for a couple of miles ....did one mile and my legs felt like jelly and i had to stop half way and take a break. I was also pulling my one year old behind me in one of those little carriage things for kids. How did you all feel when you first started to ride....am i just sad in riding a bike or what?

:welcomeB: to the June Band Crew Cathy!!!! We are all here to help one another. I don't post that much but i love reading what all my fellow junbies have to say. I am starting to post more because i really would love to get to know everyone on here. I got all my water in yesterday but i was soooooooo bad. I ate icing off of a piece of cake. Not just a lick.....i ate about 3 tablespoons and it was good but i felt really guilty after i had done it. It was my sons b-day cake. Well i took care of it...i threw it out.....my family said they didnt want anymore of it so out it went. I have been snacking on sunflower seeds but they are so high in fat. What do yall snack on? I started today...i always journal all my food and liquid intake. So on each new day i am going to write a goal and show my family and try to achieve that goal for the day and if i dont i know they will rag me so it gives me that push to make sure i accomplish that goal. I read in a People magazine that Kirstie Alley danced for exercise. She also said that on Oprah. I made me a cd with some songs that had line dances to them that last for 30 minutes. I am going to try and do that everyday. I love to dance so we will see. What kind of exercise do any of you do?
-
Good Morning Junbies!!! I made my water goal last night. I had 64 ounces of water and about 10 ounces of tea. I am in for everything. As far as the christmas challenge thats fine to set our own individual goal. We just need to decide how we are going to do everything. August challenge for exercise would be great too...i need that. I live in LaPlace, Louisiana.

Melissa Lea i am at a stand still also. The scale has not moved in 2 weeks but my clothes are different too. The scale will all of a sudden just drop....i know it will so i try not to get discouraged. I was getting on the scale everyday but now i do it only once a week. If your eating right and exercising then you are doing all the right things and it will show on the scale..just hang in there....we can do this. Scales are demons. :funscale:

I am all for the christmas exchange. I can also do the $20 gift card to walmart for the highest % of there weight. I think that both of them will be fun. No reason we cant do both of them. I am game for anything that is fun or a challenge. I also think that a get together is a good idea. Would love to meet my supportive group of junbies !!!

PinkyLee.....Not losing much off of the waist yet. That is always my last place to lose....unfortunately it is the biggest place i have to lose. I am losing in my legs and my face. I can really see in my pics. I can tell a little in my waist because of how my jeans are fitting me now. This water challenge was an excellent idea.....i never thought of my water before the way i do now. I actually drank some tea today and what a change of taste after drinking soooo much water. I hope my weight starts to move again i am stuck at 260 but i have only been stuck since i stopped exercising, i just started back yesterday so we will see. I am challenging myself to lose 61 pounds by christmas.....seems impossible but i sure am going to try. We should start a challenge for ourselves for chirstmas...like the biggest loser receives a gift. I would be willing to do a gift card just like JQpublic is doing. Like a $20 gift card to walmart. What do you guys think about that. Our own little june challenge and it will light a fire under our butts. Let me know what you think and we can make rules together and decide on a start date.

LeenaBeena....My consultation was on May 1 2006, and my surgery was June 5, 2006. I was self pay so it went really fast.

I barely made the 64 ounces yesterday...it was hard yesterday for some reason but i did it....i had to use the bathroom all night long but i got my water in...

Is everyone just eating 4 ounces of food or way more than they are suppose to. I have been reading post about stretched pouches. They said to test your pouch to do some test with cottage cheese, i hate that stuff. I dont think that mine is stretched but how would you know. My doc doesnt do fills under flouro. Just curious. I know i eat more than 4 ounces of food.

Veggestyle.....Hi....I am not a long time bandster. I have only been banded since June 5th. I am 36 years old and wish i would have done this when i was 23. So far i have been very successful with the band....my surgery was a breeze. Had very minimal pain. Was up and walking up and down my street at the end of the day of my surgery. Yes, there are risk BUT there are bigger risk to being obese. Lapband is helping me to enjoy life again and not be such a hermit crab. 23 is young but i have read a web page about a 13 year old having lapband....go to www.obesitycontrolcenter.com and read the testimonies of some of these people...i believe there are two 13 year olds that had the surgery. Even though your doctor says that the risk are high....i believe that risk are even higher if you life a life of obesity. Any your young enough to be able to live a long and healthy life and enjoy it being thin. I know many people that have lost hundreds of pounds from lapband. Lapband is a tool not a miracle and you will hear this from others....You have to work with the band or the band will not work for you. I have a friend that lost over 150 pounds on lapband and another that went from 200 to 113 in 8 months she is only 5'4 so 200 pounds on her was alot. Just do your research.....just remember you will the same amount of risk being obese...I am not a doctor but i new what was better for me. I have an awesome family doctor that said lapband would be a good option, especially since he knew i had failed at losing weight many many times. Hope some of this helps you to make your decision. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me. Like i said i am not a pro but i have also researched. Good Luck in your decision.

Hi Everyone....I got my 64 ounces in yesterday by the hardest...I really had trouble eating a tomato. I cut it into very small pieces but ended up feeding it to my little girl. After a few small bites i got that stuck feeling. I am scared to eat anything.
