Sorry I need to correct my weight. It was supposed to say 320lbs down to 200 Anyway, thank you so much for the responded. I’ve redone loaded the Baritastic app for monitoring my intake again as well as completely thrown away the crap food in my house. I will be certainly taking this seriously. Thanks again! -
How have you dealt with the unsupportive people?
Nomanativ replied to Zemi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My wifes entire family see things like this as an 'easy way out' because they are simply ignorant to the subject. You have to create the mentality that you do not care what other people think about it. You are doing this for YOU and only you. Your health. Its all about adding years to your life. Educate people on how much work goes into it. My wife had a sleeve done 3 years ago today actually, no one in her family knows except her mom. She hides it and shes not proud of it. Me on the other hand, i say it loud and proud and educate everyone who is negative about it. Stay positive, friend, you have us if all else fails! -
I just wanted to post this, because I see a lot of people posting about how much its changed their life for the better or worse. My entire life I was bullied mercilessly. My brothers, my sisters, adults, and even still today. And it never mattered how hard I tried to lose weight, it never seemed to end. People seem to think ANY version of being pudgy, fat, obese, whatever they want to call you, is unacceptable. They think because they are thin, they are above you. But they don't know the emotional struggles we face every single day! Finding something to wear that doesn't make me look bigger than I already am, but also will be comfortable. Getting our of breath just to tie my shoes, etc. My best friend used to call me 'Fat F***' on a daily basis because he thought he was motivating me. But little did he know ever time he did that to me, I would eat my emotions away. Then I met my wife, now the mother of my child (Due in October 2019) who also had the VSG done and lost over 130lbs. She encouraged me to diet and lose a little weight before meeting the surgeon. I did that, and I had every single appointment needed for the surgery in 1 month and had the surgery two weeks later! Now when I see my bullies, their comments are 'You weigh less than me, i need to work out more!' or 'Great job! you're doing awesome!' but then I get the occasional 'You did the easy thing' but they're morons and do not understand how much work goes into it. Bariatric surgery not only saved my life, but took away my depression, my emptiness, my lack of friends, my heartache for companionship, and everything in between. The road over the last year has been incredibly hard with some bumps along the way but i've made it! If you are thinking about having this done and are reluctant to do it because 'you don't think you can' - thats a crock of s*** because I did it. I am a person with little to no will power and I give into everything. Bariatric surgery is a MIND game, you have to force yourself to do it and turn it into a habit. the doctors and nutritionists WILL help you, you cannot be afraid to ask questions. Anyway, sorry for the long story, I just want people to understand that every story is different but we can all triumph if we put our minds to it! I hope this is some encouragement needed for someone out there. Share your story! what was hardest for you? What kind of things did you take for granted now or before your surgery?

1 year post-op starting to gain weight
Nomanativ posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hello All, I am 1 year VSG Post-Op and I am starting to gain weight out of no where. I have officially lost 100lbs, but ive gained 10lbs in the last few weeks. I do not eat terrible,i stick to my diet mostly while indulging every once in a while on a handfull of chips or a few bites of ice cream. What bothers me is i have noticed my stomach stretching and im less satisfied like i once was. I exercise regularly, eat a lot of very clean and lean meats (mostly venison, chicken, turkey, etc) and lots of greens and veggies. I do drink while i eat now - i know, terrible habit - but i wont make any excuses for it. however, its sipping rather than 'drinking' Im stumped. ive worked so hard to lose the weight and this is crushing my enthusiasm about being healthy and more fit than i was. anyone have any tricks or anything you can help me out with? My average Caloric intake as of right now is between 1200-1500ca. 65 carb, 0 fat, 65+ protein, 0 sugar. to hopefully reverse this, i have started on my bariatric diet consisting of around 800-900 calories of clean clean clean eating. But i started this yesterday so i wont see any results. sorry for the ramble, im just panicking and need to talk to someone lol -

You're right. that was a guess...everything i eat in essence is very lean and very low fat to no fat. I pretty much eat a lot of leaves and lean grass fed meat. In any sense, you're right. I started using my Baritastic app again and ive been feeling better about everything. The headaches are coming on but nothing im not used to thanks for your input. its appreciated. -

Thank you for the congrats! And yes, I plan to. Everyone says 'its only 10lbs' but have you actually seen what 10lbs of fat looks like? I've been kicking myself in the a** for this. Just a little panicked is all. I'm sure I can remedy the issue soon if I stick to it -
Return to Work after Surgery
Nomanativ replied to JerseyNJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took two weeks off. But I also work at a desk all day with not much activity. I went back after 1 week and couldn’t handle the sitting, I needed another week. When I went back I felt great!
