    My process begins...for gastric sleeve

Best of luck to you! I'm at the beginning of my process as well. Have those test next month. That's going to be tough for me giving up the sparkling water

    Denied and Grieving

I feel for you. So sorry you're going through this. Did they say why you didn't get approved?

    Pre-Op Confusion

Interesting. My 1st appointment with the weight loss doctor was "don't loss more then a pound a month AND don't gain. WTF! I was like how does one do that. I mean my scale and the doctors scale is different. My weight fluctuates every day. This came from when I met with the insurance lady. She said the medical insurance I have is a pain in the rear. I don't know how I'm going to just lose 1 pound. I think she's afraid that I'll get to close to 35 if I lose too much. My BMI is around 42.
  5. I may be getting a new job and I know they have Keystone Health Plan East BCBS (I'm in PA). Anyone have experience with them? How long was the waiting period? How did the approval process go for the surgery? I appreciate it!
  6. Good Morning All! So I have BCBS North Carolina and from my understanding it says 6 month waiting period for surgery. Curious if everyone else was the same or not. TIA

Starting the process of getting the sleeve

Thank you both for responding My surgery will likely be in November (6 months ins waiting period). I've having it done at University of Penn since I do have insurance. I do hear a lot of people do the Mexico option which is great that the option is there. Good luck to you both!

    Losing weight before surgery

That's exactly what happen to me twice. I thought I was losing so why have the surgery and woops I as expected gained it all back plus some.
  9. Hello All! I've been down this road before where I wanted to have the surgery then backed out, twice actually! Anyways I called this morning and made the appointment to start the process. The last time I went very close to having surgery and the 2nd time I only went to the first appointment. I'll confess a part of me chickened out but another part of me was like "I'm losing some weight.. I can do this myself". Yeah that's a lie. I'm going to be 46 and my 2 boys soon to be adults it's time for me to focus on my health. I can't live like this! I am currently 262 but my highest the other day was 265. I'm so disappointed in myself for letting it go this long. I do have hypothyroidism which doesn't help any. I look forward to getting to know all of you! Christine
