Thank you Gina, I officially made my first goal and that was to get under 200 pounds and I did that this week:) I set my next goal to be around 180 by the time we go to Disney in April. I am taking it slow and seems to be working out just fine. Hope all is well with you and see everyone agin soon. Laney

It was 6 months of required classes with the surgeon office before my surgery. Check with your insurance company some insurance companies have requirements before they will approve the surgery. At the time I had Oxford, so I was required by Oxford to do the classes. The classes were very helpful to me and I felt I was totally prepared for my journey once I was approved by my insurance company. If you self pay not sure if you are still required to do classes. You need to,speak with your surgeon and insurance company. Good luck in your journey and looked forward hearing from you in the future on how you are doing. Laney

I had my surgery in August of 2016 and after reading another blog I thought best to get a medical I'd bracelet. God forbid I am ever in an accident and not alert at least they would know about my surgery. Just like if you were diabetic or had a heart condition you would wear one. I feel better safe then sorry. I got mine from RoadID. Look under gastric sleeve surgery ID bracelets.

I heard of the Witches Brew. I have no issue meeting at 3 on the 28th.

January 28th seems to be the best day as long as we are not going to get a blizzard or another 8 inches of snow we can meet around 2. Since, we have met the last two times in Suffolk County how about someplace in Nassau Counry this time? If anyone has ideas of places to meet in Nassau let the group know. I am happy to say that I am 2 pounds away from being under 200 pounds in over 10 yrs. I am so happy I finally decided to do the surgery. I purchased a dress in size 16 for my nieces Baptism this coming Saturday from being a size 22/24. I actually have curves again:) Look forward to seeing everyone on the 28th and hearing how everyone is doing that recently had the surgery. Have a great week!!!! Laney

Hi Ginabee, Glad to hear you are doing well. I am now 4 months post op and feeling great!!! Let's see if we can try to make a meeting for this month to get everyone together and hear how we are all doing at different stages of our post op journey. Hi, Congrats on 10 weeks out!!! How are you doing? Tomorrow I will be 4 months post op and down 56 pounds. I am in a stall right now, but it happens to everyone, so I just embrace it. I look forward to meeting you Saturday. We will be meeting at Jack Jacks coffee House in The Town of Babylon @ 2 pm. I will post the address for everyone later in the week.

Jack, I am so sorry to hear about your postponement..This is just a small step backwards for the giant leap forward you will be taking soon. Try not to let this get to you. Remember all the hard work you have done up to this point to prepare for your journey. I will keep you in my prayers that everything works out for you on Monday and you get a new surgery date quickly. We are all here to support each other and if you need to vent please do. Laney
