Home scale vs dr scale
debra102364 replied to PudgeBeGone's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I used to have a weight watcher scale and it was exact with the doctor. I bought a new one and i get on it 3 times with different amounts and I go with the high one or average it. If there is a 10lb difference you can be sure doctors is right. They usually have to collaborate the scale on a regular bases. Which if you weight on both even if ten pound difference I might choice the hightest. Maybe measure yourself instead. -
I am in the same boat of only having medicare as my only insurance. I had my initial appointment with surgeon. Then I had an endoscope, ultrasound, doctor approval letter and nutrition class. Last but not least my Phyic Evaluation in which results were given on Jun 12th and now waiting for them to send information to Surgeon. So far I have paid facility copay, doctor, copay for all tests and for antistisia. So far about $120.00 so next will be the surgery. So hopefully not to much. In Tennessee.

Do any of you feel like this? Hopefully soon my surgery will be finished and I start my liquid diet.

That's a good goal to work toward is improving one's self and not measuring yourself by others but by an improved, better you. Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. All that your saying I know is true in my heart. To but it into action and get it in my head is another thing. They say the battlefield is our minds if we can get that in control how much we really can accomplish. They say the most successful people were rejected and rejected but they bet that and changed the world. So why can't we also do it. I step at a time I am coming to make it. Thank you Thank you!!! I haven't had my surgery yet. The way it looks it will be late August or around the first of September. I will be glad when I can get it and start out on a new healthy. I don't know if any of you have had issues with social anxiety. I think it has a lot to do my weight. If I have lost weight it's like I am more talkitive if I haven't I pretty much hide myself in my phone. My husband has family in and we are supposed to go see them. I just don't want to go. They don't mind speaking what they think. I have had the praises when I am smaller and the smarty pants words of, "you've gained weight". I just don't like the thought of putting myself through the negativity. Yes, I don't really like leaving the house, even to the grocery store, even if they dont say anything about my weight. I feel like their looking at me. I just don't want to go, if I don't go my husband will get all offended. I wonder when I lose the weight if I will be more secure or feel bad because everything is always about someones appearance and not who they are. Can't they see that. If your losing maybe it's because you want to get healthy and don't need all their opinions. Some people never have had to fight gaining weight. Everything they put in their mouth doesn't effect them, not one ounce. They just don't know the struggles. For now though I don't feel like being social but my husband will make me or it will be a big fight. So here I go getting out of my comfort zone so I can be torn apart and loved at the same time. I guess I will just have to agree, Yes I Have Gained Weight. Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app

So glad you wrote. You know what everyone is to be accepted but when your whole life you been made fun of, it's hard not to fear what people think and be a little insecure. I have seen a therapist for about 4yrs, not the same one but have been undercare. I also see a provider who writes my prescriptions. But not once have anyone work through my past, my weight and feeling not to smart and don't measure up. I read a lot of self help books so I have encouraged myself along the way. Also working on self mentally, physically and spiritually. Which is always directing me and us all if we realize we are all special in God's eyes and he has purpose for us to fulfill a destiny to run the race for. This surgery is all part of the journey. Waiting for my surgeon to submit my papers to the insurance and then hopefully a date. Glad to have friend's on Bastricpal to talk too. Thanks for writing to me LL1982. Any August 2019 people out there?

I was trying to lose than talk to Surgeons nurse she said if you lose under your BMI you won't be approved for surgery. Now my Primary Doctor set me up with a nutritionist, which I have not called back for an appointment. May schedule it for education purposes but I will have a Nurtionist in the Surgeon's office, which will be better informed about bastric diets. I just can't start going on a regular visits and start losing then can't have surgery, than gain all weight back and be where I started. Right now I am depressed and want this to hurry up, I've probably gained because I've been eating a lot. My scales are off so not sure what I weigh. Good luck Bianca you well be there before you know it. Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app -

I haven't had surgery yet. I just know what I learned through trial and error, lots of research and from dietitians. Yet, even the one I lost with WW was way less calories. I guess it's going to be a lot of learning I will have to understand my body and what's worked for other's. Plus, I will research and research. Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app

It is said a loss is a loss. Better than gaining but there will be times we gain but we can't let weight gains go over 5lbs. They say eating to low calories can make you gain. Normally, eating anything below 1200 calories per day make your body assume there's a food shortage. The end result causes your body to go into what is known as Starvation Mode. During this mode, your metabolism will slow down and try to conserve energy. So guess we have to find a balance and at first you get way under 1200 and we start losing water weight and when your able to eat more at first will be a weight gain but we have to get out of starvation mode and eat enough but not to much. Keep going we all will learn through trial and error. You got this. Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app

All I know is I met all requirements and my doctor who did my Phyic Evaluation has not turned in my information. It should be as fast as a fax. I saw the results on his computer, not sure why he couldn't send it via internet. Nevertheless I am going call his office again tomorrow. I called today and in 2mins she said they sent it. Found it wasn't sent. It's been since the 12th. The lady at the Surgeon's office says around August but if they don't quit messing around it will be September.
