Hi, having surgery in 4 days just wondering any May buddies out there Pre-op or Post-op

today is day 3 I had a Lap band to Bypass conversion done. My band had slipped. In comparison I think the Lapband was a harder recovery d/t swelling and the restriction. You felt like you were choking. I have to say getting fluids in is hard. a few sips and I am full. I drink warm water in the morning because it all feels so tight in there. I am sleeping on the couch because I need the 45 degree angle or I get Nausea. If you all had to estimate when did it all just click and it wasn't such a effort to drink and sleep? It's all worth it IMO just wanting to now when it gets easier.

Wow...My question is when you end up back in the ED for dehydration or pain management is that admission covered by insurance. Around here the usual is at least one night stay over. like the others said around the clock IV and meds. I had to be able to orally do 500ccs to get the IV out. and 750cc to go home. I am not a negative person but you are setting yourself up for re-admission. Is it a choice to wait for open enrollment and change insurance company's one that may cover WLS.

So is mine.....The surgeon said they go through a lot of muscles. His instructs were if it is brought on by moving and resolves with resting its muscle. If associated with food or fluids at all I am to call him. He said of course you should expect muscle pain there are 6 port sites. He said also call him with anything that doesn't seem right. Its his job to figure it all out. Mine was 5/23

How is everyone doing. the fluids are tough to get in. Today is day three and the nausea is really bad today. The patch behind your ear is good for three days so mine was Wed night pre-op thu, frid I took it off yesterday. That may have something to do with it. Anything working out well for you all to share.
