I'm getting ready to have VSG surgery in Mexico.  I originally had a lap-band - also had that surgery in Mexico - in October, 2006.  I was super pleased with that surgery, and lsot 100 pounds with it and kept it off for 12 years!  However, I started having trouble with it - throwing up, couldn't eat a wide variety of food, had heartburn and was throwing up acid.  Ended up having the band removed in November 2018.  I At that time, I asked my surgeon about revision to VSG.  His response - "well, when you gain enough weight to have that surgery, I'll be here.  We won't do it proactively.  Good luck."   Even with being super careful with my diet, I've gained 55 pounds in 6 months!  I don't want to wait to gain however much MORE weight would be needed to get this surgery covered by my insurance, so I'm going to self pay and go to Mexico, again.
