THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD
lyladyp replied to Serengirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have always been a slow loser and I remember going through the initial process and speaking to the nutritionist and ultimately it’s going to come down to exercise for me. It seems as if I store everything, but I am hoping be to be at my goal by the 12-13 month mark. I notice when I amp up the exercise I lose a little more but for others dieting is all they need. I try not to compare anymore because I will only depress myself. After surgery our metabolism and genetic make up has not changed. Surgery is just a way to provide extra assistance. -
I never saw this thread but I am happy to learn that I am not the only one. Before surgery I drank water with no issues, now it has to have some type of flavor. I use lemons or spike it with diet Snapple and have been fine. I used to think it was a mental thing but I guess not.

How often do others weigh themselves?
lyladyp replied to Binglebug1977's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh myself once a week because for me it seems to be more reliable than weighing daily. I would drive myself crazy weighing daily and watching the fluctuations. -
Yes, I eat cooked spinach at least once a week and mixed greens a few times a week as well without any issues.
-
I just insert it into MyFitnessPal app, that way it’s all of my food water intake is one place. I use ounces starting with 24 but you can change the measurements to cups or whatever your prefer.
-
I will be hitting the road in a few days and my road trip snacks have definitely changed. Subs and a glazed donut from Krispy Kreme are occasionally missed especially during my 8 hour drives.
-
Hello, have you been eating anything different recently such as fattier foods? I am also six months out and have noticed that I had to go back to the basics of soup and softer foods for awhile because I have been nauseous lately as well.
-
I have also been losing at a slower pace. But every pound is a drop in the bucket. Now friendly advice: please weigh and measure yourself only once a week. You will only make yourself mad. Also, since you were on the lower end of the weight scale we (I am including myself) know not to expect to drop those pounds easily. The only thing we can do is work hard and eat right and hope for the best results. But please give the scale a break. 🙂

You look Fantastic🎊🎉 it always amazes me how sometimes we look like a completely different person after losing weight.

I know my taste changed regarding protein shakes. The day after surgery I could not tolerate certain flavors that I previously liked such as premier’s caramel flavor (but I love it in my coffee). I have also noticed that anything sweet tastes extremely sweet. Before surgery I loved plain water now I have to flavor it to drink. So I guess it truly varies.

My two cents - my goal is 140 to be able to fit into size 8/10 clothing with room but I honestly think I would be okay with 150-160 just so I don’t look too sickly to everyone. Right now I want to reach the goal first. 😀

3 weeks post op down only 10 lbs
lyladyp replied to Dee2938's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am also an extremely slow loser. I noticed that our starting weights are also very similar, slow it's probably because we had a lower starting weight. But look at this way, how often have you been able to drop 10 pounds in a month? Keep working and the weight will come off at its own pace. -
For the past few weeks the scale has been going back and forth between 198-200lbs. I refused to count it until I was under 197-today is that day😄😁 1st goal get under 200lbs met!

lyladyp replied to Serengirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was also given it to take and had never taken it before. I notice the difference in my stomach when I do not take it. -
Thanks everyone and yes it feels great!! I know I still have a long way to go but it's progress especially it's been some years since I have officially seen 1 anything.
-
Congrats!

I recently started taking my measurements as well. I was getting frustrated with the scale.

Pouch dont feel tight when I eat..
lyladyp replied to Blueeyes66's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had surgery in May and I feel this. It’s like I feel the food go down and settle, but after an hour or so the feeling dissipates. I have just been dealing with it and figure over time it will resolve itself. -
Sick for 2 hours? Is it normal?
lyladyp replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to laugh at your response because this same thing has happened to me eating chicken and it has only happened at work. I blame it on work and not the surgery. 🙂 But seriously, it just seems as if some days our bodies are just more sensitive than others. -
Entering a new weight decade

FABULOUS!!!👍🏽 -
I am few months out and still have an issue with chicken. I bought a rotisserie chicken this past week and my plan was to cut it up and eat it throughout the week. I felt sick on the second day so I ended up using all of it for soup. Once it was softer and moister from the broth, I was able to tolerate it a little better. But I am not going to eat anymore for awhile. Maybe try making it softer or wait another few weeks and try it again.

Congrats!

Wow...I am sorry you had to endure such behavior. Be careful with your incisions, since it can be easy to develop an infection. You may need to wait a few days for a full shower (I know yuck), but I was told to wait about a week after and no full baths for 6 weeks.
