    Any locals?

Lynn and Delaware....thanks for the good advice. I know what I need to do. I guess I just feel in limbo waiting for October to get here. But.....I am going to the Y today and I will make myself a priority. Tomorrow night a new support group is beginning in Easton, MD for Lapband support. I found it on another website. I'm going to go since it is right in the town where I live. Maybe I can make a connection and get a exercise buddy. I'll keep you all posted!!! :biggrin2:

    Any locals?

I hope everybody is hanging in there. My dh and I just got back from fishing and got caught in a bad storm. We felt like we were in "the deadliest catch"!!! I've been amiss with my swimming lately. I haven't made it over to the Y in over a week. It seems everyday something interfers and that's not good. I have the hardest time keeping exercise as a routine. I really need to make that happen for me. Any suggestions?????

    Any locals?

Did you notice any differance in how rested you felt after having the cpac? I just feel tired all the time, now. I just got my appointment for my sleep study...it's July 28th!!

    Any locals?

I saw Dr. Walsh in Dover. The office said I would be contacted in a couple of days to schedule my study. This is the first clich I've encountered. My 6 month pre op diet won't be up until the middle of October so hopefully that's still far enough away that it won't affect the scheduling of my surgery. In 2 weeks I go for the nurse and psych appointment.

    Any locals?

Well I just returned from my pulmonologist appointment. It went well but he does want me to have a sleep study. I snore and my son-in-law made the observation that he saw me stop breathing while I was sleeping on their coach and thought I had died!!! I told Dr. Peters that and also the Pulmonologist. I've never had a sleep study before so it should be quite interesting. I do feel like I am getting a good check up from all the doctors and lab work and my husband is thrilled to know my health is good. I am glad Chrias is careful. I'm sure that's why they have such a good reputation.

    Any locals?

Good morning everybody, I hope everybody is tolerating this hot weather!!! Today I'm off to see the pulmonologist. Not sure what's going to happen there but at least I'll get to have another appointment checked off my "to do" list. When I saw the cardiologist on Thursday he said " I see they have you jumping through all the hoops". I know it's a good thing that my insurance is being careful but I sure hate this wait!!! I've always hated summer. Maybe it's because I'm so uncomfortable in my "own skin" I don't want to do anything. Oh well....sorry to babble so much. Hope everybody is doing well. I love reading all the posts. It really keeps me motivated.
  7. Hi, I'm in the middle of my 6 month process my insurance requires, too. I'm hoping to be banded in late October. I'm glad to know there are others in the same boat as me. It seems so far away!!!

    Any locals?

Hope, That helps so much. You and Lynn have both been so great and I do appreciate it. I think when I finally get to attend the classes in August a lot of the questions will be answered....or maybe not!!!

    Any locals?

Thanks for the info. What's the differance between the large and small AP band? I don't mean to be asking dumb questions? I quess the doctor decides which one you get.

    Any locals?

I guess I was worried that after having the band placed I wouldn't have enough restriction. That's why I want to make sure I choose the correct band, either REALIZE or the Lap Band.

    Any locals?

I'm here. But I'm still waiting for my surgery so I'm just trying to read and learn. I'm still trying to decide about which band to get. I don't understand why some people have trouble with restriction. Maybe I'll learn more about that in my August classes.

    Any locals?

You're right. I'm attending the classes at PMRI. I drive from Easton, MD and I just think of it as one big place. : )

    Any locals?

I'm doing the food plan they gave me at my first meeting with Stephanie, the dietician at Chrias. I'm into my 3rd month of the 6 month of classes. This includeds the 6 months of a weight loss supervised diet by Chrias. I'm really not loosing very much, though. I did choose the flatter port with Dr. Peters when I met with him. I just didn't realize it was called the Realize band. I've seen some people getting upset discussing it on other threads. Dr. Peters said they both work fine and I trust him. So I thought....why not go with the flatter one!!!!

    Any locals?

Thanks. I just hate waiting. When you first met with the doctor, did he/she give you a choice of differant ports for your lap band? Dr. Peters showed me 2. One was more flat than the other. He said they both worked fine so I choose the flatter one. Do you know anything about that?

Thanks, how are you feeling? I've been reading your thread.

    Any locals?

Hi Everybody, I'm pretty new to the thread. I haven't been banded yet. I just returned from my final nutrition class. I can't be scheduled for surgery until Oct, that's when my 6 months is up. In Aug, I attend the life skills classes. Has anybody attended them??? The time seems to be going by so slowly. My doctor is Dr. Peters. Has anybody had him as their doctor???
  17. I live in Maryland and have BC/BS and am going to a doctor in Delaware, Dr. Peters at Chrias. He's part of a group and is excellent.

Hi 366, I'll be praying for you. I'm a couple of months into the process with Dr. Peters at Chrias. I'll be thinking of you and holding good thoughts.

    Christian bandsters

Hi Friends, I just got back from swimming at the YMCA at it occurred to me it's one of the few things I can really do without my joints hurting. I kept telling myself I'm not really THAT overweight....but when you weight 229 and you're only 5 foot 3.....who am I kidding!!! I've let my weight impact my whole life and I'm tired of it. God has been so good to me and I want to share my life with people that need help, but I let my weight stand in my way!!! I'm looking forward, working the classes required by my insurance and hopefully will be banded in September. Please pray for me.

hello out there, a newbie here

Hi and welcome. I have BC/BS of Deleware. I have to go through 6 months of classes and testing. It's really not too band. It's very well organized and the time seems to be going fast. I'm in my 3rd month. I can't help with the doctors in TN but I just had to respond to your post. My exhusband....and notice I say ex.....would not touch me in public when I was only 25 lbs over weight. I was just devasted. He's now remarried to a very nice lady who is just "a little" overweight. Thank goodness I moved on and have married the most wonderful man for me who loves me through think and thin. Good luck and God Bless.

    Christian bandsters

Good Morning, I'd like to join this group. I haven't been banded yet but am in the process of going through the 6 months of classes for my insurance coverage. I'm really excited and wish the time would pass quickly but......I'm trying to be patient! Not one of my strong suits. I'm having my surgery done in Deleware by Dr. Peters. One of my reasons for having this surgery is to become a participant in life again. I feel I've just been sitting on the sidelines because of my weight. Plus, I know I'll feel a whole lot better. My husband is a minister so we're invited to a lot of special dinners!!! Thanks for letting me share.
  23. Hi, I saw your post. I'm also going to the same practice you went to for your banding but my doctor is Dr. Peters. I'm 2 months into my 6 month pre surgical classes. I'm really excited about it. I live in Easton Maryland, so I have quite a drive but I think it's worth it. I've heard such good things about the doctors there. Any advice you can share, I'd appreciate.

  24. Good morning, I just found this website yesterday. I am in the process of going through the steps BC/BS requires for lapband surgery. I started last month so I'm hoping to have the surgery in September or October. My doctor is Dr. Michael Peters and he's at Christiana Institute in Newark, Deleware. Is there anybody out there who's going to this facility? Caelyn
