That is awesome! I became eligible for bariatric surgery based on BMI after 2 years of a happy relationship. So, now it is time to take off all this weight and become happy and healthy. Of course, my fiance has only gained about 15lbs and can probably take it off in 2 weeks.

I have had 2 c-sections (last one 5 years ago). My worry is more for scar tissue and pain management afterward! Plus I am a nurse in the hospital where I am having the procedure so of course that gives me a little nerves. I am super excited for the journey though! I can't wait. You are having yours done in Mexico?

Hello!!! I am set for 7/2 at730am. I will be having gastric bypass with cholecystectomy. I would love to be your buddy Looking for one myself. My BMI is 41 currently, and I have no other issues. Basically healthy obese person, just can never lose all the weight I have needed to with diet and exercise!

I hope you can get an earlier date if you want one - if you're anything like me, you're rather eager to have this done and be moving on with life! 🙂 I am super in need of getting this done! I have to fly to AL in August for my doctorate program, and I just want to be fully recovered before... so I’m going for a little earlier. I am a nurse so I won’t be going back to work for 6 weeks.

I get it totally. Your surgery date is 6/11? Mine is tentatively 6/28 but may be sooner. Crossing my fingers for a little sooner!

Caltania, I totally get it... My provider gave me the option but was leaning more toward the bypass as he states it’s an 80% weight loss on average of excess weight whereas the sleeve is more like 65%. I need to lose about 110lbs so I decided I needed the extra tool as well.

Caltania, why was your provider suggesting the sleeve instead? My doctor is the opposite and feels that bypass is the better surgery...

Hello everyone! I could have sworn I wrote a post already in this forum but I can not find it anywhere!! I’m a June sibling as well and will be having the RNY! I am 5’9 291lbs and a mother to 2. I am engaged to the love of my life, our wedding is in October! I’ve had 2 csection... anyone heard how recovery is with RNY post cesarean ? I need advise on preop diets, and how the heck to decide how to buy a dress!! 🤨 Can’t wait to get to know y’all!
