  1. Yes I was hungry on the liquid phase and finally got to feeling "not hungry" (as opposed to full) once I could have pureed food.

    HUNGRY AND STALLED

Yes, I have stalled for the last few days, fluctuating up and down .5 lbs. Today I was down a pound, so maybe it has broken, I'm hoping? I am 3 weeks post-op. I am not "full" either, but sticking to my eating plan. My dr said the idea is not to see how much you can eat until feeling full, but how little you can eat to feel the absence of hunger.
  3. I am only 3 weeks out but I do not have hunger. I also don't feel really full after eating either. This is probably ideal and I hope it continues.
  4. I had more back pain when I woke up from surgery than anything else. This only lasted one day. And internal pain was pretty intense for the first day, but the pain meds helped eliminate that pretty quickly. I just felt kind of off and low energy for the first few days, the pain was not bad at all for me.

    Air Fryer

I love my air fryer! I cook almost exclusively using my AF or my instant pot.
  6. Is it that spasm that comes after drinking something? I had that a lot for the first two weeks and it has since gone away.

    Surgery is Tomorrow!

I am a mom of two young daughters, I understand your anxiety. Of course, there is always a risk with surgery so this is normal. That said, even with all of the disclaimers, I think this is pretty safe surgery to have, comparatively speaking. Good luck with your surgery.
  8. I didn't because they said strict adherence was required and that failure to comply may result in delaying my surgery. It was hard but I just kept focused on my bigger goal. Every time you want to "cheat", remember you are playing the long-game.
  9. That seems normal to me. I was always this way before surgery, a day or two before my period I would be ravenous and nothing would satiate me. I can't speak to after surgery, though I did have my first cycle a week after I got sleeved. It was a totally different experience, but I am still healing, so it's wait and see what happens in the next few cycles.

    Cocktails & Wine

It is always so interesting to me how much programs vary. Mine said to avoid alcohol for the first 3 months, though in general it's not recommended after that. I really enjoyed my wine before surgery and don't expect to stop drinking it. But I do think when I start having it again, it will be on fewer occasions and in smaller amounts.
  11. Tomorrow I can start soft foods and I am going to try some soft poached salmon and peas, I think. I can't wait.
  12. I have pcos and had trouble losing weight before surgery. I lost 14 pounds pre-op and 8 pounds post-op. I had my surgery two weeks ago. I am pleased with the results so far.

    Newbie

Welcome and congratulations on your decision. I have found the boards to be very helpful and people to be very supportive and informative so this is a good place to get some encouragement when you need it.

    Protein in vs Calories in

Interesting. I was told to focus on protein and fibre and told not to worry about calories, although the recommendation is to try and get at least 1200/day for nutrition and health. I am not at that stage yet and still taking in about 700 calories/day. I get to start soft food on Friday, so that should help increase it, I think.

    30 minutes

Is this a bypass thing, because I have not heard this when it comes to the sleeve?

    Oatmeal bananna cookies

I make these also and really like them, at least in my pre-op days. I am not on solid foods yet, but looking forward to these again someday soon.

    Starving post op!

Yep, me too. I was hungry ever since I started the pre-op, and hungry right after surgery. I have stopped being hungry since I have been able to transition to pureed foods. And now I get what the whole "feel full quickly" thing is about.

    y'all still drining coffee ?

In my 3 week post-op material, it says to avoid caffeine, however I have not read any strict requirements following the soft food phase. I have been drinking decaf and, for me, I don't really notice any difference. I never suffered withdrawals during my pre-op so I am actually fine with sticking to decaf. However, I don't think I will strictly limit caffeine after the soft food phase either.

    Pre Op Diet

I would have loved to have meat and veggies as a meal during pre-op. I was strictly on shakes, plus up to 250 calories of non-starchy veggies. That's it. Not even broth or jell-o was on my list. It was hard but as you said, what does for long-term success if we can't even stick to it for two weeks? I stuck strictly to my pre-op diet and lost 14 pounds before surgery.
  20. I too had the sleeve done on May 2 and also feel like I can take in a fair bit of fluid. I hear fluids are easier to take in and that solid foods will be a different story.
