I'm so glad to know that I am not alone. 3 weeks out on Wednesday & I don't have issues swallowing. I got to wondering if my pouch is bigger than normal since I have no issues? Could this be why? or am I just paranoid? Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I will be 3 weeks out on Wednesday & I've wore mine constantly. I did remove it to wash it and could tell the difference in aches while moving around, bending etc. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi there. 5 days post op. I have no issues with getting my protein and liquid down, just the opposite I can still take bigger drinks. Is this something to worry about? It makes me wonder if my pouch is bigger? Also I have had no nausea. I am experiencing sharp stabbing pain by my incision sight-it appears when i try to move. I am also experiencing gas pains. How long does the gas pain last? Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

July 2019 Surgery Siblings Post-Op
demayome replied to Mom_of_Chaos's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am right there with you. I am 4 days out, no issues with water or liquids, I just need to slow down when i drink them. No nausea. No hunger- I woke up 2day wanting a shake, but because it tastes different than water-I see that as more mental hunger. I don't know what full is- however I get these small burps so mayb that is what is telling me? I'm still having lots of pain from my large incision sight, but only when I'm moving around.I am having a hard time with bending over to pick something up. How did you handle this? Thanks for your time, glad to have made it to the Losers bench Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Waiting patiently for Aetna to approve my surgery
demayome replied to Tstone83's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
After about 10-14 days they asked for more documentation that the Bariatric program sent in for me. I got approval within a couple of weeks. So definitely no longer than a month with Aetna -
I am sorry that you are having to deal with something like this. I would think you would be getting support. I totally understand your frustration. I would be upset too. I think exercise is a wonderful coping mechanism. It helps relieve stress, it keeps you healthy, it helps clear your mind and it makes you feel good. What do they think you are coping from? I have the addiction gene in my blood, so I know all about wrong coping mechanisms. We all have life, and emotional stuff that we deal with. No matter how much exercise you do, if there are things you need to deal with they will still be there. Maybe they are just not used to the new you? They don't know what to think or how to take it. As long as you are staying on your plan and exercising in a healthy manner, I wouldn't worry too much. Just let them know that this is the new healthy you and of course if you are dealing with anything else take care of that too.

I am having surgery Wednesday 31July. I am wanting to use the tool as best as I can. I know we are all different and heal at different rates, but I am wondering... How soon after surgery did you start a exercise routine? What did it consist of?

Exercise and activity How much and When??
demayome replied to demayome's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank You so so much! This is definitely my mindset. I am taking Short Term Disability & I don't plan on returning to work until I know my body is healed but also that my mind is ready as well. I definitely agree with New habits being the main objective this first year, with eating, exercise and also the emotional mental side. I am ready to get healthy and live my best life and I totally understand it depends on how well I follow the rules and use my tool. -
Day 10 of Pre-op diet. 3 to go plus one day of clear liquids. It's getting so close, I can taste it!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I am new here, having surgery on the 31st July. 6th day of my liver shrinking diet. Did you have any other symptoms adding up to the diverticulitis? I am super stubborn too and I've been reading up on what's normal, what's not, because I know I'm liable to think something is normal and it not be. Good to meet you

It might be time to get a before pic out, to remind your stink'n think'n brain where you are today, what an accomplishment you have made and how beautiful and healthy your new body is

How to choose a realistic goal weight
demayome replied to ValerieInMexico's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I asked my Surgeon this question. His response surprised me. He said he doesn't care about the #'s. He says that your body can still be losing inches and not budge on the scale. He says He wants me to be in a healthy BMI. I thought this was interesting. I've only been morbidly obese for the last 21 years, after I had my children. Of course I want to put my goal at my lowest but I will be happy with the health benefits the most. I also heard another way to get over the stalls, is to take a piece of yarn and measure your waist every month and put it on a wall. That you can visually see the change with the inches measured than the # on the scale. I also plan on doing monthly body measurements. Between muscle gain, fat loss, water weight our bodies can look differently on the scale than they truly appear. -
Here is a list of Pureed Food Ideas
demayome replied to texasnewf's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am 9 days away from RNY, and I have never been on a pureed diet. Are these blended in a blender? So literally you can puree anything? I'm just assuming this list is meals that have been tried and taste good? I'm on 5 day of liquid diet and that list looks so so good. I can't wait to try them out in about 2-3 weeks. -

Hi there, I am also on the 31st. I am 5 days into my liver shrinking diet, it was tough on day 3 but the closer it gets to surgery day the easier it will be. I hope all goes well on the 29th and you get approved for the 31st. We will be surgery siblings. I am also having RNY. Can you explain what a Pouch revision is? -

demayome replied to Mom_of_Chaos's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, there Surgery sibling I am having RNY on the 31st. I had issues on day 3 with liquid diet, but it is getting better, and you are correct keeping busy helps. I'm not paying too much attention to the scale because... I started my journey in October and took a break in Feb. due to a job promotion and new grand daughter and I gained 14 lbs in the 3 months I was on pause from the program, then at the end of last month I broke my foot, so I've been in a boot not getting much exercise. I would just be happy to get back down to my October weight. But I'm still smaller than my highest weight ever so there is that. I am right there with you on the nervousness and excitement. I am sure this week is going to fly bye. -
Day 3 of Liver shrinking diet. 11 days to go. Come on 31JUL. Trying not to get impatient

Hang In there. I am booked for 31JULY and I am 3 days into my liquid diet. I'm more excited than nervous, but ask me again the day of surgery. lol..

I finally got my date. It is July 31, 2019 -
Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear you are recovering well. My surgery is scheduled for the 31st. You got the 1st day and I get the last. I'm super excited, but was nervous about getting water and protein in. I'm glad to hear you are not having issues.

It's not weird at all. Check the sodium in the broth. A lot of broths have a lot of salt. Maybe this is why it makes you thirsty?
