Vomiting nothing, there is nothing in my small pouch. I think I may be swollen from heaving and nothing is coming up from the lower stomach to the upper pouch. (sorry if too much info) I can't race off to get a defill without a 5 hour drive in winter conditions and an overnight stay. Feeling very sick and worried about slippage. Please tell me that one bout of influenza isn't enough to slip my band. Thanks in advance.

Enterprise01's Brachioplasty with Liposuction
Paulax replied to enterprise01's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Your arms must be one of the hardest places to keep still. Just to lay in bed and read would take significant movement. I feel for you. Speedy healing. -
HA! But bring it on. I am also thinking of a tummy tuck, so there's another reason to wait. Too late now, but if I have to replace the now 6 pairs of pants that I currently own, so be it. The banded life is great.

Awwww, I am so sorry. It will all get better from here. Keep us up on how you are doing....hugs....

You CAN do this. You WILL find your inner strength. And next year you will be looking HAWT in your new clothes. It is such an exciting thing, KNOWING you will be losing weight and that with proper care, you will NOT gain it back. Good luck and best wishes.

What helped me in my decision, was watching a friend get banded, and in a year and half she lost 130 pounds. All this as I watched and gained and got more miserable. I am so grateful to this friend. Now, I am down over 100 pounds and will enjoy a bottle of wine together soon to Celebrate being at goal. Cheers.

At what weight were you wearing a size ?
Paulax replied to azallboys's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am 5"11"+ Just be sure to know that you will be wearing all those clothes on the way down. Started out at 280 and a tight 18-20. Around 190-210, I was in a 14??? Can't remember exactly, Now at 177 pounds, I am wearing a size 11-12, depending on the cut. I am 2 pounds from goal, which is the highest weight in the normal weight range. If I went down to 165, I'd probably wear a 9-10. -
Should I do breast reduction before or after Lap-Band sugery?
Paulax replied to O2BThinAgain's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I agree. I had a BR 3 years ago. Although I don't regret it, I would recommend doing it at or nearer goal. Things change so much when you lose weight. Good luck. -
Same thing happened to me a few years ago. I would just worry about any credit card receipts that may have been in there. I now own a paper shredder.

Actually, I think wolves would do a MUCH better job of parenting.

Me too, good fresh no preservatives protein, and a few bites of soft cooked veggies.

does anyone have feelings for their lapband doctor?
Paulax replied to mylapspirit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, everyone has a hottie for a surgeon. I 'love' my surgeon for sure, but only because he made me beautiful again. I think the feelings are totally normal for sure. -
Well Hello Onderland...nice to meet you!
Paulax replied to mumof2boys's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations and Season's Greetings! Reaching ONEderland was by far the most exciting experiences in this journey so far. I remember it well. Now the next excitment for us will be getting to goal..... -
Good question. My port is just down from between my breasts. I can't imagine that it will need repositioning. I know some ports are placed down around the bellybutton. So ya, good question.

:pound: ............................. -
Deltadawn, Tonks, I was stuck for 6 months. I went in for a fill. At this point even a .1 or .2 fill will make a difference. I was vomiting for a day and half. Scary experience, posted on the support board. So anyway, puked for a day, didn't eat one thing, never lost an ounce...... Focusing on rehydrating today and bleaching every surface in the house. DH had it, I got it next, 3 kids still healthy, knock on wood. Stay healthy folks.
-
And darn it. I was 2 pounds from goal, I didn't eat a ruddy thing and I am STILL 2 pounds from goal. Paulax signing off rehydrating today.....
-
It is over, thank goodness. Thanks for your responses. I thought hard about the food poisoning thing Wasa. My dh had it the day before me. Can't think about anything that it may have been. My kids did not get it, but will watch them closely, toss out anything questionable. I am going to see my surgeon in the next few months and will ask about this very thing and having an antinausia in the house. Very unusual for me to get sick, it has been years.... But it was very unnerving to feel that way and I know the band was stopping anything in my stomach to come up to my pouch, so don't know how good/bad that could be since the body wants to purge. Phew, safe for now. PS, a school in Vancouver was CLOSED due to 100 students phoning in wtih the flu. They phoned the health authority and the school was closed for sterilizing.....tis the season, I guess.
-
I have one thing to add as a fellow migraine sufferer. I take Maxalt rapid. It is a melt on your tongue pill. PS, really sorry about all your problems. I wish for you that the old addage is true that, 'this too shall pass'. And that in a year you can revisit this post at or near goal.
-
Nuff said. My dh didn't like the idea either. I told him that although I appreciated hearing his side, that this was my body, my life and my money. He is a wonderful man and was very supportive in the end. I think his reservations were for my well being. I am now down 104 pounds and he is very proud of me. But my real pride comes form within. This is your body, This is your life, This life is short, too short to worry about what others think. Good luck my dear. Let us know how things go.
