Awsome post. A friend of mine was unable to eat while breastfeeding. Her doctor told her not to worry, that the baby would get what she needed. It would just be taken out of her body. So sip lots of water take care of yourself, and congratulations. I hope to be posting a similar post in July.

Awsome news! So glad everything is good!

All those commercials on tv, the internet, magazines, etc for weight loss programs. If even ONE of them worked, there would be no obesity. I even went to a friend's house and she started telling me about a Chinese herb that speeds up your metabolism. I was like un huh! It is called caffeine. She said if I ever want to lose my weight to ask her and she will show me on the computer. Ha, not likely.

....are really starting to scare me. I appreciate all the honesty on this board, it sure makes me think. If I thought there was any other way, I'd do it. This seems like the most effective, I don't care how slow my turtle goes, and it seems the safest, but damn, I wish there was another way.

Thanks DeLarla. I do appreciate hearing it all, and wish you much luck in your journey.

I STILL am very appreciative of the fact that people share their complications. Thank you all for that too.

Awsome posts you guys. Thank you so much. You really lifted my spirits. I must agree the positives will outweigh the negatives. And why worry about something that may never happen. I think worrying about 'something going wrong' would just make me feel like I made a mistake spending 13,500 on surgery. But I have to remember a statistic that I just read last month. If you are 40 and obese, you could be taking up to 7 years off your life. Now THAT is a scary thought. Thanks again, you guys are all awsomely awsome.

I just read DeLarla's post on http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=16715 I guess that is what really bothered me.... but thanks for your reply...If the only thing I have to complain about is that I can not eat as much as my head wants to. I will consider tjhe band a godsend.

I love stories like this. I wonder how the stomach handles being squeezed long term....

Tell him he is taking the easy way out if he eats meals you cook, so he can do it the hard way and cook and clean for himself.

Well hell, I am fairly new prebander also, but I will welcome you. Sorry I can't help you with any of your questions. But someone should come along soon. Good luck.

Great posts thanks all. I JUST watched a new show about plastic surgery. A woman had problems with her breast implants and had them removed. They said these breast implants do have saliene in them but the outer part is made of silicone and eventually the silicone breaks down. So they should only be viewed as a 10 year implant......so if I can pull that information from breast implants Iand apply it to the band can we assume that the band would break down with time similarly. I guess the only difference between the two would be that the 'lining' of a breast implant is much thinner. A band is harder more dense. Becky, I can understand your feelings that you weren't fully aware of the lifespan of the band. But I can say as a pre op looking at this information. I will still get banded knowing that in 10 years I either should have it removed or replaced or some alternative may be available by then. ??????
