yes, I am just about starting to get a gagging feeling when I drink my broth. but today marks the 23rd day. I had a hard time again yesterday. I have 3 young kids and dh BBQ'd some steak, boiled up some fresh corn and broccoli. I was just about drooling. The important part is that I did make another day and I am counting down the days to my fist bit of mushies. I will start creamy stuff and mushy stuff a week from Monday when I get my first fill. So I had better get my reicpe out for some awesome broth and push through this last 8 days........... still below 255, when i get into the 40s I will feel like that was a huge accomplishment.... hugs to all

lol, that is cute. I DREAM of not being a human damn and also for the day a towel will reach around me completely. hugs

Hang in there babs. Do anything you can do to get through the day. Each morning you will feel like you conquered the world, OK well at least you have conquered another day. hugs

Congratulations! It is awesome isn't it?

Fast post-op weight loss and then stall
Paulax replied to findingme2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ruthie, I am in the same boat. Still on my clear liquid fast, I am expecting the same to happen to me. A great big stall. I think our body will adjust and we will start losing again. In the meanwhile, we can focus on getting our metabolism up by exercising more. Did I just say that? lol! -
Sounds AWESOME! good for you. Yes, it is a blessing that we won't feel like we are eating 'diet' food. Just smaller portions of what everyone else is eating. Cheers.

Honestly, I don't know how I have done it. The past 2 years, I have not been able to stick to any kind of program for longer than one day. I guess there is a bit of fear in not following my doctor's plan and a bit of pride, I have a dear close friend who did it for 38 days!!!!!!!!!!! I am not even going to try that. Whatever is driving me, perhaps my band, I am eternally greatful for it. I started walking today and feel fine, despite my surgery one week ago, so I can do that daily now. I will walk more when I start taking in more calories. dropped below 255, but I am not supossed to weigh for another week.

OK, start of a new day. I want to confess that I was a grouch to my kids yesterday. Even while I was grouching I couldn't stop myself. I had a gynecological surgery a week ago Thursday, so I have been holed up with the 3 kids adn not able to get out comfortably. So I started to get grouchy. My band friend of 2 years warned me of this. I guess it took 21 days to turn into a raving, grouchy, picky, b@$##! I'll be better today. So starts my day 22! Where is the crying smilie. I am kind of used to it, but there were about 3 times where I seriously thought of eating something. But I must persist until I see my surgeon one week from Monday. Starting to walk again today. Going with my dh and 2 of my 3 kids on bikes. Should be a nice morning. How are all the rest of you doing?
-
Wow, I am admiring your stats. Congratulations, 3 years! You are my hero. Any idea why the slip? Is a fast supossed to correct it. Good luck girl, YOU CAN DO THIS...IF I CAN DO THIS YOU CAN DO THIS. Just get into the swing and join us. hugs

Now, I KNOW all surgeons are different, but, is there a rule of thumb as to how much docs put in a first fill? What loosens with time that would require a second fill? Weight loss? PS< I have a Vanguard 10 band. Thanks in advance. Kind of not looking forward to my first fill, one week from Monday.

lol! Is there a crying and STARVING smilie, laying across the kitchen table DROOLING at the family meals smilie.....:heh:

So glad to hear. Yes, the support here is awesome. -

Just had to report, I AM SO FULL RIGHT NOW. I ordered the kids some Chinese take out and bought myself a Hot and Sour Soup AND a Won Ton, had a cup of each broth and am full to the gills. I have left overs so that will be nice tomorrow. Melody, thanks for the menu. That really does help me see how your daily meals go. You must have the perfect fill. Do you have any idea what that is? I am looking forward to that stage. Melody, if my calculations are correct you have lost an agerage of 3.5 pounds a week. YOU ARE MY HERO! HOLY, you must have worked so hard for that. hugs
-
Melody your support means so much to me. I just look at your enthusiasm and your weight loss together and think. Please, God, let me be as successful as Melody. ha! Thanks fro your support. For us looking forward to the solid stage, maybe you could give us an example of your daily food plan. please! And JOSETTE, YOU CAN DO THIS. My stomach growls like a bear too. It stops with just a drink of Water or juice. It passes, it really does. Keep up the hard work and come here for comfort. We will hold your hand. today I am going to try for some hot water and lemon water. I think the heat will help settle things. I did try the hot cranberry juice. It was comforting. Dh is not coming home for supper tonight so I am taking the kids out for Chinese or Japanese and I am buying myself a tub of Won Ton or Miso. I LOVE broth that someone else makes. ha Cheers everyone.

Awesome! Good for you girl, you must have worked hard.

I am absolutely prepared to go to a standstill as soon as I start eating. So ya, we will need to get our bodies moving. That is what is nice about this liquid stage, if there is ANY good stage. The fact that the weight is just falling off. Anway, congrats on your first 25 and keep up the good work.

Oh Booda, you sound like you are having a time of it. Just try to remember this is just temporary. I hope the headache goes away soon. Take some Tylenol or whatever helps. You body is adjusting to a lot all at once. Marie, you sound like you are doing so well. I am so proud of you. It isn't easy is it? This marks DAY 21 !!!! for me. I am hardly believing that time has gone by so quickly and I am still on my liquid fast. I was so hungry last night. I ALMOST ATE something, but was too scared to do so. So as this is my weigh in day, I can report a 25 pound loss in 21 days. I know I won't lose this quickly when I step up to solid food, but what a great start. So some very hungry moments during the day. The broth or cranberry juice will stop it. And in the morning I feel like I deserve an award for getting through one more day. How are all the rest of you doing?
-
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yeaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! Day 21 of liquid diet. VERY hungry at times, but just work hard toward bedtime. I have lost 25 pounds in that 3 weeks. Only 9 more days of this fast then I can eat real food. Must report that I have had very little pain, and my clothes are lose and I feel absolutely wonderful. Looking forward to food however and nervous about my first fill.
-
and.........btw, that is not a true size. lol! they are like tiny cans of cat food. My kids love them and that is what I call them. "Anyone want some cat food?" How is the day going my dear?
-
Oh those suggestions are making my mouth Water. AND, have any of you tried those tiny cans of salmon salad. Already mixed up, and tiny portions. I can just hardly wait for one of those. Drool!
-
I am soooooooooooooo going to warm my Cranberry juice, thanks for that suggestion. And yes, I will have some Soup minus the noodles. The kids love the noodles, so they can help me with that. ha! Thanks for the last comment. I must continue. Melody, the day I can say I hvae lost what you have lost, I am gonna CRY. Congratulations and thanks so much for your support.
-
THAT is so awesome! I still want to see a sticky for people who have reached goal. You deserve your own sticky..... I am inspired by your success...... Congratulations!

That said on the hungry thread. I AM STARVING!!!!!!!!! I don't know how I got through last night. I was so hungry and my broth was making me feel sick. ew....I had some sf Jello and lots and lots of Water, and somehow made it through to bedtime. As I have said before, I love bedtime. That is when I KNOW I made it through another day and yes, did survive and not die of starvation. ha! This morning I felt great, weighted myself and had my coffee. NOW I AM STARVING AGAIN. ha! Honestly, I dont' know how I am doing it another 10 days. But that said, I am both extatic and fearful of eating food again as I am liking this drop daily on the scale. BUT I know I need more energy so that I can exercise. Anyway, just checking in on my 20th day of clear fasting. If anyone has any brilliant ideas on what else is clear, I'd love to hear it. So far I have been subsisting on clear homemade broth, water and the odd Splenda drink and one Cranberry juice a day. yawn. Cheers to all the rest of your fasters. How is it going with you?

I don't know what advice to give as I am only 3 weeks out tomorrow. I guess the drinking too soon after eating hit me on the head for future reference, as it flushes the solid food out of your tiny pouch. I am still on my liquid fast and yes, I am hungry a LOT. I try to distract myself with activity, housework, reading a new book, getting out of the kitchen and/or out of the house. It is hard, but try to imagine that that hallow feeling is your body losing weight. I once heard that, don't remember where, but this is not a painless process is it? Anyway, we are here for ya. And we understand. hugs
