Hell ya, I can wear baggy pants for 10 more pounds too. It is kind of handy not to use the zipper. I feel like a toddler, pulling my pants down without unzipping.
-
I am sneaking up on this thread. Have been watching and wishing upon stars for over a year now. I am almost theeeeeeeeeeeeere.
-
I am confused also. I find that there is an XL and there is an XL! There is a sort of 'teen' XL that is more like a ladies M, and there is an XL that is a true XL. That probably made no sense at all, but there ARE some XLs true to size. I hope you find something nice to wear. But take my advice, don't spend too much $, because you won't be wearing it for long. I have found this to be true. Now 13 pounds from goal, I am starting to not be afraid to spend some money on clothes. Good luck

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY

I have asked that this and the 4cc band thread similar be made into a sticky. Perhaps if others ask, it may become a sticky. I also refer to the 4cc band OFTEN. I bumped this thread recently because of a poster on another thread asking a question. Valuable information in these threads. -
They buttoned....barely....but they BUTTONED!!!
Paulax replied to blahblahblah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good for you on enjoying your success. And enjoy those pants, for they will probably only fit for a short while. I predict that in a few, you will be posting that they are too BIG! Congratulations! -
I am kind of in the process now of changing my goal. I am thinking of setting it higher. My original goal was around 175. I am thinking 180 might be a 'good enough' place for me. ???? I feel thinish, look thinish. ???? I guess I will know when I get there. Recently some of my size 12 pants are getting big. I can pull them down without undoing them and they look saggy in the ass. I don't really know if I WANT to be a size 10. Really, I don't. I am not aiming for a supermodel size, I feel good. It is a hard call mcgreen. I might have my band loosened .2cc or so and just see where the weight settles. So for me anything under 180 will feel like goal. But, like Jachut, perhaps, I will just stay at that weight for 6 months and then drop some more. But I am starting to feel mostly done. So for me, I have just started to adjust my goal, but for the heavier, not the lighter.

Help! Anyone else have this happen??
Paulax replied to chloe992000's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Absolutely, this has happened to me before, I posted about it somewhere. I was in a panic, I had a fill of .2 and had more restriction the day before. I though for sure my doctor missed his mark. I was doubly upset, because I have to drive 5 hours and stay overnight away from my 3 young kids to get a fill. I was told here, by a wise poster to wait it out and sure enough. 2 weeks later, fure enough, it tightened up like a snare drum. I hope your fill tightens up soon. There is no good explanation to why this happens. My latest fill, felt tighter immediately, as did my others. But for some reason that one fill did just what yours is doing. Cheers and let us know how it goes. -

bump ........................... -
I have also read this to be true. Also, if you have the larger band, I understand that it DOES take longer to reach your 'sweet spot'. I am not sure but I may have read somewhere that it took until about 6.0-7.cc s to get good restriction. Redgirl there is a good thread somewhere with people posting their fill amounts. I'll see if I can link it for you. But ya, it could be confusing and frustrating if you don't know your fill amount.

Do NOT get discouraged. Positive changes will come. It takes time. It sucks but true. Keep working out hard, keep clean with your food and you will reap the benefits.

Calling all at or near goal - how is your skin?
Paulax replied to Boysaway's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Proudly 44 years old. Lost almost 95 pounds, have about 13 more to go. My skin is fine, or at least it is acceptable everywhere except my lower abdomen. But most of that is due to the 3 pregnancies and stretch marks. Will probably have a TT. -
I dressed fat. I ate little. No comments, THANK YOU MIL! No drama. I love that. Perhaps she has accepted the fact.

Goodbye, it's been a slice, but I hope I never see you again....

Goodbye to the 80s Farewell to the 70s, the 60, the 50 and even the 40's. 30's you hung in there, but good bye to you too and 20s, it has been a slice, but I fear I must bid you farwell this week. My new friends are the teens, today 218 to be exact. I don't know how long we will be friends but I am prepared to dump you too as I head toward the ones.......my good single digit friends await. -
Hmmm, I think they mean most people will lose 50% of the weight they were suspose to lose to be at their healthy goal weight. So for eg. If a person had 100 pounds to lose to get into a healthy BMI, they would lost 50% of their weight, which would be 50 pounds. There is a statistic out there that banded people lose on average of 50-60% of their weight. MANY, many of us have easily surpassed that. If my algebra is correct. I have lost about 92% of my excess weight.

HAHAHAAH and BTW, speaking of the 80's. My 13 year old dressed UP like the 80's for Halloween, like that is dressworthy or semething. She wore MY old clothes and made her hair big, which for me is normal, but for her is hilarious. Then she came downstairs and said. "Mom, Franky says RELAX!" That cracked me up.

Pst....MIL is coming for dinner tonight. I am going to dress FAT. ISN'T THAT HORRIBLE? I will also report later, if and what she says. :heh:

How much longer will you live? (Banded)
Paulax replied to Chicagoboy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Great question. I too, do not know if the band will lengthen my life, but I can sure tell you that it has ALREADY and GREATLY improved my present life. I also feel as though I may have dodged a few things, diabetes for one. -

Hey, lawand jessica, there is a whole new and wonderful world under 200. Good luck in your countdown. Cheers -
Oh boy, do I remember those feelings well! They are scary, but ultimately exciting aren't they? You will get through this and in a year be so very grateful you went through with it. Cheers and hugs. Teachers Rock!:clap2:

I have a load of left over chocolate bars. Not as many kids came this year. I will either freeze it, or take it to the Gospel Mission, or THROW IT AWAY, BECAUSE EVEN MY HEALTHY WEIGHT KIDS DON'T NEED IT. But I VOW not to eat it as I have many times before.

I have a fiber tip for you from Dr Ox (love that guy). I drink Protein shakes for Breakfast with a couple of Tbsp of Psyllium Husk in it. I buy it at the health food store in bulk, very cheap and an easy way to add fiber. I also add a couple of Tbsp of Flax Seed Oil. It keeps things moving. Cheers
