  1. How about a dash of hot sauce in that cottage cheese for a change? or (yes I'm going to say it) scramble tofu? If you've not tried this just get some firm tofu, pour off the liquid, crumble the tofu with a fork (or fingers), cook with a little olive oil in a skillet with whatever seasonings you like on eggs (onion, garlic, salt,...) if you want a little color to resemble scrambled eggs just add a pinch or two of tumeric.

Hi jsja2, How are things going with my fellow Blumofe bandster? Don't you see her tomorrow (Wed.)? I see her on Thursday. I can't wait for the green light to drive again! I just short of stir crazy today. I've never been on the internet sooooo long before. I did get out for a longer walk today...all the way to the drug store three blocks away...wow.

If anyone's partner is interested, my partner started a forum for friends and family support under social groups. She'd love to connect with your families. She's a great support and wants to connect with other partners of lap bandsters.

Hi....I'm Harvest and I've been with my girlfriend for 22 years now. I teach elementary school (22 years). My girlfriend is a legal advocate for senior citizen benifits. My hobbies include golf, drumming, golf, arts and crafts, golf, woodworking, golf, and did I mention golf. I grew up in a tiny town called Indian Lake in upstate New York. I went to college...at BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY!!!! I took my first teaching job in southern California (Riverside) and stayed there for 18 years. My girlfriend and I finally found our way out of the smog and moved to Wisconsin four years ago. We live in a quaint little town just south on Madison. We live a comfortable noncomplicated life with our three cats and two year old welsh corgi.
  6. Thank you and good for you to make such a life altering decision at such a young age. Your decision to have lap band is going make your adult years sooooo much more full and enjoyable. Maybe we should make a goal to meet at Michigan Women's Music Festival next summer or the following. Wouldn't it be great to have a lap band camp group at the festival and maybe do a workshop about lap land to educate and inform our sisters? Harvest
  7. If anyone is looking for a surgeon in southern Wi/northern Illinois I recommend Dr. Blumofe in Beloit, WI. I was just banded by her on June 23. She has a great support team working with her too. Dr. Blumofe has a fantastic bedside manner. When I meet with her it's like she's talking with an old friend. Medically Dr. Blumofe started her own lap band focus in January 2008. She does most of the lap band surgeries on Mondays. That way she has all week to be available if there are any concerns (her partner surgerons know nothing about lap band). Dr. Blumofe works out of the Beloit Medical Clinic and does her surgeries at the Beloit Memorial Hospital. As far as insurance coverage Dr. Blumofe has someone on her team who handles getting everything cleared. Whatever needs to be done to get insurance coverage Dr. Blumofe's team is willing to do. I have Health EOS and got full coverage approval rather quickly.
  8. Hey we were in the hospital at the same time!!! Dr. Blumofe was very busy on the 23rd...she told me that she did 5 lap bands plus two other surgeries on that day...how is your recovery going? I'm doing okay...the worst pain at this point is gas and sore back muscles. I was glad to get off clear liquids...soup and porotein shakes are a bit more satisfying...can't wait to make it to blended foods. I'd love to keep in contact with you...

    11 months 1 week - 100 lbs Gone

IndigoGirl you are my angel of the day. I was banded on June 23 (Monday) and today I was having a bit of a cry. I was thinking what if this didn't work? What if I did everything the doctor, nutritionist, ect. told me to do and it still didn't work? Why would there be a reason to go on...to live the rest of my life never being able to run, hike, take long bike rides, go horesback riding...the thought of just going through the motions of living without the joys of doing what my soul desires sent me into a bit of a depression...but your post gives me hope...you went from 'dumpy' to sexy!! Thank you...thank you...thank you... Harvest
