I am making fairly good progress...a little over sixty-five pounds in eleven months. But I seem to have hit another plateau. How do I rise above the dreaded leveling off. I have at least another forty to go. I have started exercising in earnest the last month -- cardio and weights. But I seem to be standing still. Any suggestions on daily caloric intake? Should I stay away from sugar, salty treats? I allow myself a bit of chocolate now and then, some potato chips. I want a realistic life style. My earlier efforts were too much like being in a monastery. I think complete abstinence from some "goodies" is asking for trouble. My doc says to stay at 1000 C. I am fully committed to going all the way. Something I have never done with my many prior efforts. Dianne E.
  2. I was lap-banded 7/30/07, have lost about fifty pounds, and want to keep losing. I don't eat as healthily as I should, because I really have trouble with meats, except for seafood. I have not exercised, but I plan on starting a program this summer at the health club where I have a membership. I have noticed that I do have muscle loss, my skin is certainly not as tight as it once was. I want to be healthy, continue to lose, and who am I kidding, look good and fit. I'm in my early sixties, but I feel and look younger. I guess I need some pointers and encouragement. Dianne E.
  3. Thanks, Jack. Love the laundry quote. I have about 50 pounds to go. Of course, that would be my ideal -- 5'7", 135 pounds. If I can make it to 145, I'll be happy. I just want to be fit. I think I've loss muscle mass, because I'm "spongy..." Dianne E
