    is someone deleteing large threads?

Dylansmom started a thread that discussed how she felt about the upcoming movie and what "she thought" were the facts.. some people agreed, some disagreed! I thought it was a cool thread... I like post that make me think.

    is someone deleteing large threads?

I was a moderator of another forum for a period of time and we could turn that feature off so the original poster could edit their own post but couldn't delete and entire thread.. does this forum have that option?

    is someone deleteing large threads?

I just came here looking for the Davinci one... I really wanted to read it... Can't the moderators stop that feature of the original poster deleting? I can see her editing her post or what she said but she deleted a lot of others opinions. I don't personally think if it was getting out of hand it wasn't her decision to delete others posts. If the moderates didn't want it to continue they could have closed it for new post.
  4. I had my second fill today... We could have ran into each other and not even known.... My appointment was at 12:50 and Dr. Lusco filled me to 2.7 cc It's so cool we go to the same doctors office... My fills so far have been a breeze; I can tell today I'm much tighter and I've done a protein shake tonight and it went down fine but I could feel the difference from yesterdays feeling.

Are you aiming for a bikini bod?

You can have a bikini body without actually wearing a bikini.... I mean a lot of us wouldn't feel comfortable with our skin, stretch marks etc or just not like Bikini's but wouldn't you like to have the body to pull it off?

    Ignorant People Irritate me!!!

I get the same thing at the gym and it's annoying. I've been working out, teaching aerobics (certified instructor), weight lifting, and a yoga instructor since i was about 18... I also know what to do but still get so many people telling me what they think I should do...

Are you aiming for a bikini bod?

I really want a bikini bod just once more in my life... I guess I'm one of the lucky ones because I have been there and I know how good it feels. I use to play beach volleyball, run around in a bikini, shorts, halters... I have to say it was a great feeling. As I age I know my skin won't look like that again but I still want to be small enough to be comfortable in most outfits.... I know I'm not "old" at 36 but I do want every chance I have left to be "HOT" just a bit more. Also, about the skin thing - I do think that even if I'm skinny enough I won't show a lot of skin unless it looks good... I saw Farah recently and I think she needs to quit wearing sleevless. My goal is a size 4 - 6...

    Fiber please!

1/2 cup of milk isn't that many calories, is only about 5.5 carbs or you could use the carbwise milk and it would be less... it's worth the carbs for that amount of milk since it really makes the fiber one way more yummy!

    Protein Shakes

I used to work at a gym and we made shakes for the weight lifters... they were delcious.. 2 - 3 scoops of frozen strawberries (about like an ice cream scoop size) 1/2 banana 1 cup ice 1 scoop of Protein powder 1/2 cup skim milk Blend in a strong ice crushing blender! It's pretty tasty and refreshing! We got the frozen strawberries by the gallon at sams club
  11. I know everyone here has one or two things they just aren't willing to do or change. I understand and I'm really fighting with a few of my demons here. I don't want to give up fast food. (out food) - I mean I say it's because of my job entertaining clients, eating out with them, traveling hours to see them etc. And a lot of people have given me suggestions on how take along food.... but honestly I just don't want too. I think there should be a way around this - like for example I can make better decision at each resturant. I don't cook nor will I ever learn. I'm not into that. Anyway - that's my one thing. I still think I can make it work with this life style but I'm wondering what's your thing? I've heard someone say before - I didn't have this surgery to sweat and she wasn't going to exercise. I respect that. I like exercise and don't mind that but understand everyone has their thing. What's your thing?
  12. How many of you tried Phen Fen when it was on the market? What was your sucess rate? I tried it - lost all the weight I wanted and felt great! I was never hungrey and ate only to survive. Most things made me sick to my stomach to think about eating so I ate a lot of raw veggies (which I hate now) and salads. Other then the sick feeling in my gut I felt great... happy... fun.... not pre-occupied with food. I wish it wasn't bad and cause heart valve problems. The lap band helps with 1/2 the battle which is the amount you can eat. But Phen Fen had the emotional component that I think really made the difference. Did anyone else have similar experience.

    One bad week...

Wow! I'm so sorry about your bad week. It just seems almost impossible for someone to die at 39 from a heart attack but I've hard of it more and more. I hope your mom gets better and your sister is doing ok... I know she has a long road, my best friend was a widow at 35 but she's pulling though strong as ever. I don't know you well yet but you & your family will be in my prayers.

    Time off after surgery

Sugery was on Wednesday, I was back to work on Monday.
  15. I don't rely on veggies for protein cuz there are hardly any protein in them. I want to eat veggies for the antioxidants, trace amounts of vitamins (the ones we may not have in a multi), the lutine, (spelling - not good)... and all the general healthy things you are supposed to get from eating a healthily variety of fruits & veggies. They are just as important as protein I just happen to hate them. I will try some of the "hide them in the meatloaf" ideas though. I can handle that.

What are you not willing to give up?

I agree... and I also think the low-fat craze was a huge mistake. I'd like to go back to eating real unprocessed food but on the other hand I don't want to cook... In California they have a lot more resturants that serve real food (since it's trendy) I hope the trend spreads to Kentucky.... we're sometimes slow on getting that type of stuff and some of use still wear 80's hair so it could be awhile.
  17. I agree! Veggie haters united... People always try to convince me to "put cheese on them" or something... they are stilll just gross I think. I can stomach about one serving of raw carrots per day and that's about all the veggies I force upon myself. I did try the V-8 twister with veggies and fruit and it's good but has a bunch of calories.

    Never thought I was.........

When I started counting calories (which was before the band) I was drinking a latte' every morning that I would make myself with my espresso machine and about 1 cup of half&half... sure I could have used skim milk but it just didn't taste the same so I used cream.... wow that was a lot of calories and I was floored at the amount. Also, I love salads but am amazed at how many calories are in dressing. I know I should have known all along but until you start measuring out two tablespoons and see how little it is, you just don't realize. I hate low carlorie dressing so I just don't eat salads now. I'd rather have the calories on some food that keeps me full. (Plus I like cheese and bacon on them too) I still use real half&half in my coffee I measure it to the two tablespoon serving which is 40 calories. Some days I want two cups of coffee so I have to decide if 80 calories are worth it. It certainly is amazing how many calories are in things you don't realize... and most the time they just aren't worth it. But if I chose to induldge in something most the time I'd rather have real and just a little bit then fat free and a lot. (I do like the fat free hot dogs though and a bunch less calories)

yep another ? to pick ya brain

I get them really bad - usually on the first bite or two and it's not always from not chewing or eating too fast as I've gotten them on mushies too. I've never PB'ed but I'm sure I'd rather have hiccups then that. The hiccups are a sure sign to me to remember to slow down and after a few minutes I resume eating and everything is fine. The only thing is if you're in a restruant and they get really loud it can be embarrassing. I guess I shouldn't care but people look at me like I need assistance like Im choking or something.

    Committment Thread to lose weight

I vow to exercise for at least 30 - 90 minutes - 5 days a week. I vow to write down everything I eat I vow to drink 64 oz or more of water I vow to keep my portion sizes small, make healthy 'real' food choices and eat a balanced diet. I vow to not drink with my meals.

What are you not willing to give up?

Yeah I try to make good choices like I do taco bell often and usually just get a soft chicken taco... or a spicy chicken burrito which is about 220 calories. I eat some of the tortilla but not all of it. The tortilla doesn't bother me currently at 1.7 fill.... I do a lot of resturarnts like Logans, Texas Roadhouse, O'Charlies... you know the casual dining type. I get chicken mostly or sometimes Soup but it goes though the band too fast. It's funny how some people just hate exercise. I use it as kind of away time. I'm a payroll software consultant. So customers pretty much call all the time with "My payroll is broke - Help". So when I go to the gym in the evening I get my flustration out. I figured some people would say they wouldn't give up chocolate or something like that... Oh yeah - i totally agree on the diet "franken" food.. it's just not right. I did diet pepsi at one time but that wasn't too bad to give up. I still would rather have real cheese, butter, milk etc... I just think real food is also healther then 'fake'... anyhow fat has gotten a bad rap...

    Update...

Wow! I'm ready to start saving for this. I had my breast lifted about 5 years ago and since I gained and lost and gained some more... they are kind of back to uck agian. I'm inspired by your lift and ready to do it again. Funny thing about mine was I knew what I wanted... I wanted "small boobies" but the doctor didn't believe me so he talked me out of the B that I wanted and said I'd be happier with a C... . He was wrong especially since i gained weight they are back to a DD.... What size did you go too? I think yours look perfect?

    Turtles???

Also... I think a big thing is not thinking you are a turtle if you have 1, 2 or 3 weeks with no loss as long as the average is 1 pound a week. See I think I'm a turtle (sometimes) and let it discourage me because I've always times were I wouldn't loss on any diet for several weeks or sometimes only loss .2 or even a gain. But this time I do believe I'm starting to "average out" and it's imporatant not to get discouraged when you have those plat-toes.. (I can't spell - can anyone help me with that word?)
  25. I never tried core. I've read though it and didn't feel it was something I could stick too. I travel 2 - 6 hours per day to clients and then work all day with them and ususally eat out (with them). I can't complain about my job I love it but it makes it hard to diet when you're eating just about every meal out. I've heard lots of people including my Weight Watcher leader tell me to pack a lunch or take food with me but I'm just not that type of person. I don't like sandwiches or anything really I could pack in a lunch. Plus part of my job is to entertain the client and take them to a nice meal or two.... I can't do that if I'm eating a sack lunch. With the flex plan I can eat all three meals at fast food or even slow food and still maintain my points. The big bad with out-food is how much you can trust them to not lie about the portion or put more in then they are supposed too. A lot of times I think that's why I'm stalled so much. I'm not willing to change my life style so I just dropped my points down to 20 per day. And I have to say.... I'm finally losing! (so excited to see 1 pound come off)
