Hi I had my surgery in 02 with Mr Kerrigan at Walton hospital, it was funded by Sefton Council, I waited 2 years from being referred by GP to date of surgery, today I have lost 10 stone, kept the weight off and still have the band in, Mr Kerrigan has now retired but Mr McAdam has taken his place, its worth the wait in my opinion unless you get a loan, happy to answer any more questions as kept the weight off since 04 and lost 129% o my excess weight good luck sweetie Danni x

Hi Laura Not sure if u have been done yet but I had my band done in liverpool on the NHS and my surgeon Mr Kerrigan does fills privately on the Wirral and in Crosby however an associate of his, Mr McAdam does fills in Waltom hospital privately for £100 hope this helps, hope your doing well Danni x

Hi I had my surgery on 12/06/02, I weighed 19st 2 lb on that day, today I weigh 9st 5lb and have done since 2004, I found the most effective way to lose the weight was in the last 6 months when I knew the band was too tight yet kept the Fluid in until the weight came off, i knew this wasnt healthy or right but at least i lost 129% of my excess weight when they only guaranteed 50% and the weight has stayed off now even thouh i have had fluid removed. I would still do it all the same as now the weight is off facing a diet if i put a few pound on isnt so bad as i havent got that 10stone mountain to face, but everyone is different.
