Has anyone ever won an weight loss exclusion??
Mink replied to MyMeshelle's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have not heard of anyone get coverage mine had an exclusion and I had to self-pay. One lady I spoke to said it is like buying a car without am/fm radio and desiding you want one even though you didn't pay for it. My employer put the exclusion in to save money. Good Luck -
How long before first fill?
Mink replied to lilnora2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery the 13th and Im scheduled for a 4 week check with a pooible fill on the 15th of July. -
Exclusion in 99% (or more)of the time means the end of the road for insurance paying you can do what I did and shop for a doctor for self-pay. My company has an exclusion but we did get them to cover pre-op tests.(they did not cover them for my surgery but my reflux)

Had my pre-op appointment on june 5th and Surgery the 13th went today for my 1 week check and have lost 30 lb in 2 weeks and 3 days. They said I was doing great but was a little upset when they asked how much I am exercising and I told them I have been getting plenty of walking at work. (I went back to work on monday after my Fri surgery) I felt a little rough at first but got to feeling fine after the first day back. I am a supervisor and do not have to lift anything. The day got even better when they told me I can have mashed Potatoes KFC here I come. Looking for July 15th my 1st fill.

Mink replied to AngieAngel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to the siminar on May 14th and had pre-op on June 5th and surgery on June 13th other than having a upper GI I have not had to do anything else (they did my pre-op blood work at my pre-op appointment) Good Luck -
We told no one. I am the type that does not like attention and felt everyone wuold be watching me to see if I was losing or asking me how much I have lost am down over 25 lb and only one person has said "you have lost some weight" and she has not seen me in over 3 weeks. I like it this way but everyone is differant P.S. I have never lied some much to my kids they like to know where I am going and doing cant tell them I am traveling 5 hours away to see a doctor but I am fine and healthy eventually I will tell them.

Travel Post Op? Is two weeks too soon?
Mink replied to wsw27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery 5 hours away from home. Discharged the day of surgery and spent the night in hotel close to surgery center and went home next morning. Doctor wanted us to stop every hour or 2 and walk for 10 min. I really had no problems wouldn't want too but could have rode for another 3 or 4 hours. -
Has anyone asked if it is okay to use a tanning bed? Ready to get started on my tan but was wonder if it is okay. Thanks

Anyone From Hickory, NC Or The Surrouding Area??
Mink replied to Mel119's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Anybody care to disclose the cost on your self pay. My Insurance has a Exclusion on weight loss surgery.(Put there by my employer to save money Im in education and we see cuts everywhere) Had a doctor close to me untill I had to go to self-pay and they said they did not take self-pay patients. I am set-up in June for surgery but it is 5 hours away and will be hard to go that far when school starts back up. (live in Boone.) -
Has anybody used the same day surgery center. Am scheduled for June 12 ( same day is 4000. less than Hosp.) Dr Ponce is doing mine.
