    Slimming

I lost 25 pounds in my first two weeks. Since then I haven't lost ANY weight. In fact I've gained 2 to 3 pounds. Is this normal? I have been following the diet, walking everyday, and doing evertying i was told. I was banded on may 5th. Please someone help me! I want to lose a few more pounds before my first fill. Am I doing something wrong? What can I DO?
  4. Wow, Reading this makes me feel a little better. I have been following the diet, walking, and everything else I was told to do. I lost 25 pounds from May 7th on my first visit, since then I haven't been able to lose ANYTHING. I even gained like five pounds, which I'm pretty sure is water weight. This is extremley frustrating. I'm so scared I will go back to the doctors in two weeks and they are going to be like wow, that fat cow can't even lose weight right. I feel full most of the time when I eat, but when I don't I stop myself. Please any ideas to help me. Do diet pills help aid this process. Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining I only lost 25 pounds. I just need HELP. I want to at least be down the 5 pounds I gained. Does it help to go back to full liquids?
  5. I think that was my stupid mistake... My doc said no straws until you learned to sip, but my dad told me later tonight that they help to take in a lot of AIR. I am feeling better with all the burping. But I gotta say I was kinda scared for a little bit. Is it easy for the band to slip?

    Considering a lap band

I just started my LapBand journey, but from what it sounds the lapband could help you. You don't have to make a commitment now, but find an informative meeting! Its the first step. I hope you'll be ok with all of your stress. Good Luck!

    after lap band

Check with your doctor, I found out that my insurance pays for a tummy tuck!! Good luck!
  9. I've been doing pretty good since I got banded last wednesday. Today I woke up and as usual I didn't feel like eating. But I made myself stomach something to get the day rolling. Today was the first time since the sugery that I think I got all of my liquids. About 8 pm I started feeling like I was going to throw up. I was trying really hard not too because I don't want to create slipping. So I just started walking around a lot. Then I started burping and started feeling better. Did I drink toooooo much water today, or did I just take in tooooo much air? HELP i don't want this to happen again.
  10. I definetly did that! Haha wow I dont think i've ever eaten so many different foods in a matter of two days. Its not gonna make you miss them anyless, but maybe you wont crave them as much. Just think. In a matter of six weeks (in my case) I'll be able to have those foods again, just not as much. I had my surgery exactly one week ago, and am already cravings. Just make sure you have found foods that you can live on until you can eat normal foods again.

    Young and Banded

Thanks everyone for all of your help. As I may have mentioned before, it really makes me feel better. You'd be suprised at how long an 18 year old could yo yo diet! But that describes my life. Ever since fourth grade I've been on Diet after DIET. I had actually talked to my doctor when I was 16 about the Gastric Bypass surgery, but had chickened out. We had even found a doctor and everything that would do the surgery. I was lucky and my insurance pays for everything. I even found out they pay for a tummy tuck!

Thanks a lot for your words. They really are helpful! Within your first couple weeks how much weight did you lose?
  14. I would definetly tell the truth on your food logs. If your doctors are like mine, they will do everything they can to help you. All that they want is for you to try your best. Becasue my BMI was so high, I got to skip the 6 month diet. I had my surgery a few days ago, and am already feeling better aside from some sholdure pain. If you are struggling to lose some weight, increase the amount of water you drink. My Aunt has been doing that for the past month and a half and has already lost 30 pounds.
  15. Hi! I'm 18 years old and was just banded on Wednesday the 7th of May. So far I haven't been feeling too bad, besides the immense pain in my left sholdure. I need a little inspiration from others reminding me that this is all worth it. Please someone let me know when I should be back to normal activity. Not limited in what I can do. I'm also kind of hiding out right now. I have a lot of friends, but they are all twigs. It was hard growing up in a situation like that for me. So before I had this procedure I arranged for myself to "run away" I actually had a fight with my mom, and wound up being "kicked" out of my house a few weeks before my actual surgery. So my run was 700 miles to Ann Arbor Michigan to go live with my dad. I feel like I need to tell my friends since I should be going back home in about two weeks, but I'm nervous about it.
