I think that it depends on the amount that you have to loose, when I went to the first consultation, I also was kind of dissapointed, because the Dr. said you loose 50 % of your overweight in the 2 yrs. period, but he also said that it depends how commited you are to the plan. I think that with gastric bypass you have no choice you have to have a very strict diet and as a consequence you'll loose more. Personally I think lapband is better because it does not change your digestive system. But the decission is yours, just do not give up.

I think is your decision, but ussually people that is not overweighted will judge you and make you feel that you just do not want to make any more efforts to loose weight. Also there may be a misunderstanding between LapBand & cosmetic surgery. I personally, have not tell my relatives and friends, only my husband, kids and my mom know about it, but not my sisters, friends or In laws. I think that is something private, that only the ones that are next to you (living with you) are the ones that are going to give you the support you need and will need.

Congratulations, I know what that means! it is the begining of a new journey in your life. I am still waiting for my insurance to be approved.

Hello, I am new in lapband talk, I am in the process to get approved by my insurance, I really want to get banded I even got a part time job to cover my deductible, I really hope that all the effort is worth it, I think that I have been gaining more weight.

Insurances r a pain, I am in the process with BCBS too, and I really hope to get approved, because my policy has to be renewed in November and if I am not approved before that date, I will lose all the $$ I have paid towards my deductible. I had to talk to them already regarding a claim they didn't want to pay, they were very nice and said that it was a mistake from them, I hope the same happens to you.

Just hang in there, I know it must not be easy what you are going through, but just remember the excitement you had before the surgery, and you've done it you're almost through the hard "stage". I am on the process to have it done, and some times I don't know if I'm going to be able to get it done, because of insurance approvall and $$. So now that you have it hang in there, I am pretty sure once your period is gone, you'll feel better and whith the strenght to keep fighting. God Bless you and give you strenght
