December Surgery dates???
RaeSavage replied to Kimmerz23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m having the gastric sleeve. Starting weight 265. I haven’t lost much during the program. Current weight 261. I have issues as well with metabolism. I have an endocrine hormone disorder. The weight loss will help TREMENDOUSLY with it. I may even be able to have kids after all. 😆 -
Please Help (Insurance Question)
RaeSavage replied to BecomingAnna's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don’t forget all insurance policies are specially tailored. You have to read the guidelines, my insurance policy clearly states that if my deductible is NOT met, that I’m responsible for 100% of the procedure cost. -

Why hello there surgery twin 👯♀️. I’m ready for my surgery as well. I have an appointment tomorrow to sign my consents as well as get my report time. It’s allllll done. I haven’t made many preparations as far as clothing goes. Food either, from what I understand your taste buds change. But good for you!!! Best of luck to you! -

If you’re done with everything, and it’s been submitted wait 3 days and call the insurance company. They approved me within 36 hours. Just pray and STAY ON THEM. I have hope for your. Fingers crossed 🤞🏾 -
Blue Care Network of Michigan

Hi. I maybe able to answer that question. Your deductible will be eaten with the procedures. Like I had to do 2 sleep studies, and egd, see a psych, so on an so forth. Do things to get it down. Go see the dermatologist or any old thing like that lol! Also, doesn’t all of that reset at the beginning of the year? Your deductible and out of pocket will reset to your plan default on 1/1/20 -

I only say it’s hell because I have a migraine. My body is NOT used to being this restricted. But I’m gonna stick with it! I want this more than anything. -

I’m trying so hard. I’ve had a migraine since yesterday. I know it’s an adjustment. My body is used to more food. Luckily I have a great support group, a freezer full of sugar free popsicles, and a 64oz yeti full of water. -
The clear one I drink is called protein2o I get it at sams.

Dec 11. I’m excited!! I’m also annoyed with this liquid diet. It’ll be worth it in the end. -
I had a doctor tell me that I wasn’t fat enough VERBATIM. At that time I was 240. I hopped on a scale yesterday and I’m 270. TWO SEVENTY!!! 😞 I’m 5’6. So I decided to change my pcp totally. Hopefully I have a more understanding relationship with the new one. I know him personally anyway. 🤷🏾♀️

Hello everyone! I’m new here! So I’m anxiously anticipating the start of this journey. I have a consultation scheduled for 4/29 for a consultation with Emory Healthcare here in Atlanta GA. I have no idea what to expect. I recently realized that my Cigna insurance will cover 80% of this surgery. That’s all I know as of yet, but as I search the forums and do research I realize that I don’t have HALF of what other people have on this site. I don’t usually see a DR. I don’t even have a primary care physician. No medically supervised weight loss and no co morbidities. All that I have is a BMI of 43% PCOS and possible sleep apnea (fiancé wakes me up all the time because I’m not “breathing”). I’m concerned this will be all for nothing and I won’t get approved. I’m 32 and I need to nip this in the bud BEFORE I end up with co morbidities. Is there ANYone on this forum like me?

Humana Medicare Advantage plan. Human is pretty good. I’ve had them before. But this is the first time I’ve had Cigna. It just happened to be who my employer prefers. I’ll see how this goes.

Well looking at other posts I see that this is the easiest way to get a letter of approval or recommendation. I have CIGNA insurance. So they require a stamp of approval from a doctor that has NOTHING to do with the surgery. So I got on Zocdoc last night and made an appointment today. Funny enough, it’s a doctor that I know personally 😂😂 That should help.

Thanks for responding!!! Good idea, I will actually reach out to an MD! I appreciate the feedback. Maybe we can be twins in the whole process
