I have a charge 3 and it pairs with MyFitnessPal. I also get phone, emails etc. It is waterproof, but as I said I don't wear it into showers as I'm using a fabric band now. I love the relax setting.

I have the waterproof one but I take it off for showers, few steps in the shower. Good luck and keep it up!

I haven't had surgery yet, but I did have a band. I found that anything other than plant protein powder gave me gas and cramps, no dumping. I would see another doctor to see what is really going on.

8 months almost 9 post-op
Sandra Nuelken replied to LaNueva_Janie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I lost my 100 pounds I decided to have a tummy lift. Worst decision in my life. You lose all sensation with it and I threw 3 blood clots that traveled to my lungs and they almost killed me. Maybe I had a bad doctor but my tummy is now flat but my ass is big. Very stupid. -

Sleeve gastrectomy after a hysterectomy...
Sandra Nuelken replied to JoniR's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my hysterectomy 4 years ago and I'm currently going through the process to get approved for the surgery. I've had weight gain too, but I also had a band slippage at the same time. -
I know that surgery causes hair loss. Just for a short time and it happens no matter the type of surgery.

Good luck on your recovery. -
I had the lap band for 10 years, it worked for about 8. I had it removed last year and then after being diagnosed with sleep apnea, my insurance said I met their standards for coverage. I couldn't afford to pay for it myself as I'm retired and paid for my band surgery. Just hoping all goes well for you and keep us posted.

Those that have June dates, I will keep you in my thoughts and wish you a safe journey. I still have two more appointments before I get a date. I guess I have an entire summer to try to lose some weight. I have a few favorite summer dishes so I'll try to keep on the downward trail. Keep us updated!

Surgery is complete! Onto road to recover

I remember with the band the excitement I felt - and pride - when I actually reached the weight under my driver's license. That is my goal again. -
Surgery is complete! Onto road to recover

I hit it once with the band, the happiest day was when I actually weighed less than what was on my driver's license. It had always been a dream weight. I remember when I put on a pair of jeans and saw the light between my thighs. We will do it. I have 2 more appointments then I have to wait for a surgery date. My knees are anxious too. We will try to be patient. My doctor today while working on my knees asked if I could lose just 10 pounds. I told her I would try but if you get to the point you can't walk to exercise it is pretty hard. I'll drag the kayak out and get in it when I can. I hope you have a safe and successful journey. -
Surgery is complete! Onto road to recover

I happy to hear from Frustr8, I am 72 and was concerned about my age. I just had my knee injected today and I want my knees to stop hurting so very bad. I also want to be able to go out to eat and not look like I'm giving birth getting out of the booth. Between the weight and knees, it is a real show. I know if I sit anywhere where my knees are higher than my fanny I'm stuck. But most of all I want the freedom to move in this world without worry or thought. Then I want to travel and fly again. -

I'm going through the steps for the sleeve after having the band for 9 years. I remember what it was like when I weighed less and that's all I want again. I want my mobility and health back. I too have trouble with knees, stairs, hills, and walking and distant. I also want to be able to get in and out of my kayak without making a fool of myself. Keep me updated on your journey, good news keeps me positive! -

What is on your list of things you want to do after weight loss. My counselor said to make a list. All I want is my knees to quit hurting, they did when I lost my weight before. I also want to wear clothes without 2 being the first number or an X the last number. I don't have any really big goals. So far do you have the reflux you had with the band? -

Thank for the support. I'm nervous maybe because after having the band I know somewhat what is ahead. Again thanks for the kind words. -

I have 2 more pre-op visits then wait for approval and date. As I've had the lap band most of the visits are just visiting. The diet is much the same for both, the recovery a bit harder for the sleeve. I'm getting nervous but will just take this one month at a time. -

Could you answer my question about sugars
Sandra Nuelken posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the lap band for almost 10 years and it quit working the last 4 years with big problems. The tubing was rubbing the vagus nerve and eventually led to A-flutter. Now I'm pursuing the sleeve. I am struggling to not gain all of the weight. I'm using a Fitbit and My Fitness Pal. I have put on a lot of weight, and all I want is the freedom of movement back. Interested in hearing any feedback. -
Artificial sweeteners give me migraines so why can't you use sugars. I use Boost for a protein drink and it isn't sugar free.

I keep seeing you can have sugar
Sandra Nuelken replied to Sandra Nuelken's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was concerned about the "dumping" syndrome. Does that happen with the sleeve? I usually buy a one pound of sugar and it lasts me about a year unless I'm making hummingbird food. I make my "faux" sweet tea, I make it with caffeine free tea and a 1/3 cup of sugar in a gallon of tea. Then I pour a Tervis mug of it and add ice all day. It makes me happy. Also makes me feel like I'm drinking sweet tea, the drink of the south. Sugar is not high on my list, now I can fall into a room of warm bread and disappear. I've been successful with the lap band until it was removed. Do I follow the same diet? I lost 100 pounds with the band. -

We had a Siamese cat that was pretty evil so we named her PITA. Pain in the Ass... maybe you could use this. -
