In 2009 I had one of the first lap bands put on and it worked really well for about 5 years.  I lost about 100 pounds with it and was very happy with the outcome. Then gradually it quit working and I had issues with it.  I couldn't find the right spot, it was too full, too empty then after really getting sick from it they removed it.  Then I was told that I had it longer than most.  I am now looking into the sleeve so I can return the weight loss I once had.  I am looking forward to the surgery, but not the immediate recovery.
