I decided to go the wedding and work my surgery date for another time. I'm going to see if I can postpone my starting date for my new job. If that doesn't happen, I will try working my surgery around some holidays at the end of this year or very beginning of next and use a couple days of sick/personal time.

I need some advice. I was scheduled to have Lapband on September 4th. I was offered my dream job, so I had to cancel that date. The only available date my surgeon has for me to do the surgery is August 5th. That is 2 days before I was scheduled to go to my college roommate's wedding. The wedding has been planned and all expenses paid (non-refunable) for over a year. Now, I am trying to figure out what to do. Do I cancel my wedding trip plans to have the surgery? Or postpone the surgery for a year? I have never had such a hard decision to make. I have been counting down dates until both the wedding and my surgery. I haven't seen my old roommate in 4 years. I'm sooo torn. I want the surgery to improve my health. But, I know that I probably won't get another chance to see my college roommate for many many years. What would you do?

Strange... I met with my nutritionist yestarday. She told me to use straws for all my drinks following surgery. Surgery date is September 4th. I didn't think that I would be using straws at all prior to meeting with her. Made me happy! I don't like germs or the thought of drinking out of glasses in public places.

I can't wait! I'm so excited about my surgery date - September 4th. I have been going to all of my appointments and finding out as much as I can about the surgery. I only have a couple more appointments left until my new life begins. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the three week long pre-op liquid diet. I'll manage though. I can't wait to be thin and healthy! :biggrin2:

My email is dralee262004@yahoo.com. I work really screwy hours right now, so I'm not sure if I'd be able to make the meetings. But I'd love to attend for the support. -

I'm in the process of planning my LB surgery with Dr. Ingram. I went to a seminar at the beginning of May. I really liked Dr. Ingram when I went to the initial consult with her. Her office staff is super friendly and very cooperative. I have my LB surgery scheduled for September 4th. I can't wait. I have been looking forward to this lifestyle change. I'm in the process of going through all of my testing to gain surgery clearance. I know I won't have any problems since I was referred by both my PCP & gastro.
