Hello All! I'm Peach! 👋🏾 My surgery date is 6 count em.. SIX DAYS away. I was put on a 3 week ALL LIQUID pre OP diet. In the first week I cheated but I have been trying my best. So far I have lost around 10lbs. I see alot of people say that if you are not successful in the diet and your liver doesnt shrink enough, the doctor could sew you back up and not operate. My question is: has anyone ever been sewed back up and not operated on due to their liver not shrinking? Tips, stories, &advice are all welcome.

stomach discomfort with eating
Peachgodd replied to Tfarr38's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
1 month out, on soft foods as well... for me its intense gas pains that start after the first swallow. It makes it so uncomfortable to eat that eventually I'm like screw it. Do these pains go away as well. It's making me HATE food. Now I know we are supposed to have a new relationship with food but I dont look forward to eating anymore to be honest -

I know this is an old post but any advise? I am having sharp pains by my largest incision and it started after I turned the wrong way in bed. It feels like I pulled a muscle.

Pre-Op to Post-Op - my recent journey
Peachgodd replied to Coleslaw's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so glad your surgery went well! Did your doctor tell you how much to walk? Mine told me to walk but wasnt clear how much.. I cannot wait until I am at the pureed stage, my surgery date was 5/20 and I have 2 weeks left of "no bumps no lumps". But I really miss tuna lol -
Scary to me too.. but shes fine and I'm sure her doc has done tons of procedures. My doc is super strict I'm on liquids for 3 weeks then pureed for another 3 weeks. Then soft food for 3 weeks.

figuring out an ultimate goal
Peachgodd replied to Johnny B's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey you look awesome! I have a goal of getting down AT LEAST 125lbs. Starting weight was 320 so 200lbs for a first goal seems realistic as well as attainable. Once I get there I will reevaluate how i feel and look and then maybe I'll tweak my goal a bit. I was never on any meds like you, but I really like that goal you set. I just want to get to a place where I feel good and I can maintain it too. -
Bariatric surgery was a big mistake

My Bariatric Surgery Book (written/given to me by my surgeon and nutritionist) says that I can eat that one week after my surgery. I had my VSG Surgery on 5/13/19 and have been been eating all of those veggies and fruits since 5/20/19. Everything has gone smoothly for me so far. 👍🏻 Omg really?!?!? 1 week?!?! I'm still on liquids &3 weeks later pureed foods so still not solids. I thought it was cause your stomach couldn't handle it??? How did your pouch respond?

So I am sitting in my bed and my head hunger is whining about a cheeseburger. I am 7 days PO and a thought crossed my mind. Do I crave the cheese burger's taste? Could I satisfy this craving bt chewing a burger and spitting it out? Or Do I crave the entire act of eating chewing and swallowing. Has anyone ever tried the first method? Again just curious, its 1130 where I am and I am NOT getting out of my bed to test the theory. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

What will satisfy my head hunger?!
Peachgodd replied to Peachgodd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
4-6 weeks I'm SOOOO grateful that the actual hunger is gone or I dont think I would make it lol. I try to change it up from the protein shakes to the chicken broth to give me some variance. &it DEF helps that one day, one day soon I can have that burger. But of course a couple bites lol -
Just wishing you the best and a speedy recovery! I'm sure you will do amazing Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Chickened Out On Surgery Day. Help.
Peachgodd replied to xandriuh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have anxiety and I had an attack at the same point as you, when she placed that big a$$ needle in my hand. Luckily my mom was there and the nurses were both so awesome and they talked me off the cliff so to speak. I would say try meditating and practicing going to your "happy place" this could help alot Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Bariatric surgery was a big mistake
Peachgodd replied to Alvinchicago's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I think it would be helpful to seek professional help at this point. It just seems as if you needed the bypass you weren't loosing weight by yourself &couldnt. You must see what you GAINED and not what's lost which seems to be alot of grief about food(which clearly was your issue to begin with) Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Take lots of pics Measure yourself for times you cant SEE the weight coming off Take all the time you need to heal Make sure you focus on loving yourself as cliche as that sounds Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I found oatmeal on the bariatric pal website. Its got added protein and only 10 carbs. Post Op food list my doc gave me, had grits and cream of wheat so i feel like it will be fine. We will just see how my pouch feels about it Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app
