    What The Hell Man

In America, something like 60% of us are overweight or obese. People just don’t know what people look like at a normal weight. If you haven’t told people about your wls then I wouldn’t be surprised if they imagine something is wrong. Finally, some people may be rude because they are a bit jealous but won’t say so. My best friend, when I told her I was having wls, said “oh no, you’re going to look hot and I’m still gonna look like this!” I appreciate her honesty, and I know to be sensitive around her, and others who share our struggle with weight or body image. Try not to let people’s comments and insecurities get you down. You’re doing this for you, so enjoy it! Maybe just respond with “You’re right, I have lost a lot of weight! It’s weird seeing me at a healthy size, right?”
  2. I’m certainly no expert ( sleeved yesterday) but you might try collagen peptides. It’s a taste free powder and you can add it to anything. I feel like it’s helped me with hair and nails- but that may be because I WANT it to be helping. Maybe read up on it and see if it’s worth trying.

    Hashimotos sleeves?

Anyone else? I’m so hopeful- but at the same time I have this nagging feeling that my thyroid issue will be holding me back.

    Hashimotos sleeves?

So my current weight is obviously 218, not 118 (Freudian slip! 😆). But I don’t know how to edit my post so....

    Hashimotos sleeves?

Anybody with Hashimotos that can share your success or struggles with the sleeve? I travel today to Vegas and will be sleeved on Thursday, 4/25 at Blossom Bariatrics. Hashimotos plus menopause has made it impossible to lose weight- despite diet, exercise, medical weight loss drugs. I’m so hopeful that this will provide the missing tool. I’m not afraid of pain or hard work. I have lost 26 pounds in the last 5 weeks (only needed to do 2 weeks of preop diet but I thought I’d start as soon as they gave me the diet). I’ve done 2 Protein Shakes and one lean and green meal a day. Maybe averaged 700 calories a day. Anyway I’d love to hear your experiences! HW: 244 CW: 218GW: 140 5’6” Age: 48

    Extremely rude nurse

I agree that you should speak to the hospital director/ nurse manager. Then let them handle it and let it go. Don’t let that awful woman steal your joy! You’ve just done something brave and remarkable! Focus on recovery and look for all the beauty that happens around you and because of you. Blessings to you sweetie.
