Okay, so the singing might hurt a bit, but what about the laughing??? You are all too funny! :heh: :heh: :heh: :heh: :heh: :music: Thanks for the advice. If anyone has anymore experience, let me know. Thought I'd just sing in my light head voice for awhile.

I was just wondering if there is any difficulty singing while recuperating? It sounds like the diaphragm and support muscles could be sore? :lalala: :lalala: :lalala: :lalala: :lalala: :lalala: :lalala:

I am being banded on April 5th. I still can't believe I am doing this!! I am also most worried about all the erosion tales. I am a cash patient, so there is that nervousness of insurance covering any complications later. But ever since I first heard of the band, I wanted it. It makes sense. We can all compare stories and liquid diet ideas!

I haven't been banded yet, but I can relate. You have had a long, grueling educational career to earn a law degree. You also have made a lifetime change in your eating patterns. After extended stress, it is completely natural to feel some depression. You have worked so hard! And you are almost there!! Hold on!

What if you are under 35??

LegallyKristin, I also have to carry many books, materials and laptop in my job at school. I bought a small rolling suitcase. It is wonderful, and I'm sure will help after my surgery in April. 50 pounds isn't good for anyone overweight to have to carry. Especially after surgery, though! Good luck!!!

How common is it to get an infection at the port site? Does anyone have this problem? :typing: Getting banded April 5
-
On the Inamed site, it shows that there is titanium in the port. Does anyone know if it is possible to have an M.R.I. with a metallic port? I know that you have to take off all jewelry, underwire bra, etc., so the magnetic field is able to work properly. This could be a deal-breaker for me and whether I get banded or not. Thanks!

Check out Dr. Ortiz in TJ.

What kind of metal is in the port?? Does anyone know? I am severely allergic to nickel. And I would be very embarrassed to have to announce that I had an "implanted device" in such a busy public place as the airport.

NewSho, Why not Tijuana?

Cashley, I'm glad you brought this up, because I'm afraid the "no drinking" with meals will be the most difficult dietary change for me. Any more suggestions out there?

Donna, Shouldn't it be "English" major? (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)

I am new also. I have scheduled April 5th to be banded by Dr. Ortiz. I am a cash patient because of a lower BMI. I am most nervous about: 1. complications from surgery (DYING) 2. hunger and weakness 3. failure to follow instructions 4. erosion 5. long-term problems that have not been encountered yet, because the band is faily new. 6. feeling I have failed because I have to have surgery and can't do it on my own. 7. I can't really think of anything else... Every morning I wake up and think that I am crazy. But then I remind myself that I am miserably fat, and that there is hope through this surgery! Thank you for starting this new band Sor. Chik!!! We can support each other!!
