No way! Your sugar "slip" is being NORMAL. Hair loss, from surgery? Again, NORMAL. It took me 3 years to get to have surgery. I weighed 357 at my highest and was treated like it was 753 lbs. I went down 27 lbs on my own. However, I had asthma all my life and my body HURT. I retired from a job I LOVED for 25 years due to fears of working in a COVID spread environment and in order to deal with my weight. My pcp gave me phentermine to reach the arbitrary 315 lbs hurdle goal to get into surgery. Now, 6 weeks post op TODAY, it hurts to eat, I HATE protein shakes and it feels like I'm starving. Still, I feel immensely HAPPY. I am grateful for the surgery! I lost 30 first 2 weeks post op, then nothing more and gained back 4 lbs. Yet, I know it's a blip. You lost weight! You lost 60 pounds! That's like putting down a kid who piggy backed on you for however long. You're sixty pounds LIGHTER. Your hair will grow back! EAT foods high iron, biotin, and vitamins for hair skin and nails. My sister went through same and 5 years later she's back to normal, hair and all. She gains a little on holiday's but goes right back to losing what she gained with more activity and WATER. You are NORMAL. Enjoy what you've accomplished! Plus I just read people with surgery are living LONGER!!!😎🤟

Bari things that give you the ick
Herstorian replied to kbsleeved's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes! It's used by hospital support personnel much too often. I feel it's a form of degrading, bullying by people who have no understanding or compassion over patients physical struggles. Instead they hold judgement over those patients and have a word they can use without the possibility of being accused of bullying because it's an accepted term. -

Anxiety 6 weeks gastric sleeve post op
Herstorian replied to Herstorian's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you. So it is unusual. I will make an appointment. Someone said Kaiser makes the entry more restricted to prevent filling smaller stomach, but I haven't seen much on web about it. -
I have had a difficult time with pain after eating yet felt like I was starving. The protein drinks were making me gag and I stopped drinking them. I knew I had to get protein so I began drinking Fairlife and eating Oikos 15 gram protein yogurts as well as canned chicken. I eat very small amounts of food but I'm just wondering when will the pain go away? I feel most of the pain is at the stomach entry. I CHEW CHEW CHEW too. Even liquids hurt. I keep a lot of ice packs in the freezer because I need it on my stomach all day. Feeling anxious. Any advice is appreciated.

That is so exciting! Good luck! I am trying to understand and get used to this forum, but hopefully I will be able to see your updates. Sleep with a smile tonight knowing you’ll be free of the burden of weight soon. Irmie -

April 2019 Surgeries!
Herstorian replied to CajunSam's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Alwzla8, your posts are firing me up! I can’t wait for the ball to get rolling on my life change! -
I just asked my doctor to refer me for gastric sleeve surgery. He replied on Thursday, April 4th that he submitted the referral. Now what? How long does it take usually after the referral at Kaiser Fontana? Anyway, my dilema is that I am a school teacher and not to tute my own horn but the kids are fond of me in an aunty type of way I guess but some have slipped and called me mom and I am just as fond of them. However, I do have an unbalanced share of difficult kids and it’s Jr. High so they are quite a challenge. I also have a great deal of the advanced kids, although those kids are a greater challenge if home is not supportive of them. Needless to say, the stress from my job has made gaining weight very easy. This year my asthma that I have had since infancy has taken a turn for the worse and though I have my meds, I am feeling HORRIBLE. I know that weight loss will help and I want to head for surgery ASAP! I feel guilty leaving my students, but not enough to give up my chance should it arise before schools out. I’m hoping any parents or students who have experienced teachers leaving suddenly and affecting them, might chime in. I also hope people who feel that I should proceed with my needs chime in as well. I also hope someone with experience at Kaiser Fontana with Gastric Sleeve surgery would not find it too boring to fill me in on what to expect. I appreciate any response as I am kind of obsessed with this right now. BTWm even tho I am a teacher, I am a sloppy typist and I don’t care okay? I just want to get my words out however I can. Please do not feel intimidated in writing... Please don’t correct my writing either because I know... This is my first time in forum. So I am learning... Thank You! Irmie
