Talking about getting cold feet..... I am a little nervous about getting put to sleep. This will be my very first surgery aside from having a c-setion which I was awake the whole time. I am just hoping I am all the way asleep not feeling a single thing. Has anyone see the movie Awake?

My dr. said 4 weeks.

Did anyone wear a girdle doing the post op phase?

I have hives and I have to take Zyrtec everyday for the rest of my life. I told my surgeon about it and he says it's fine. The meds will not harm the band.

Does anyone have any good advice on healing? What was the most important things you have done instructed by your dr to make sure you and the band healed in the right place without any complications? Im just looking for good information to make sure I dont goof up my healing process.

I mean a plain ole girdle... I wear one to work everyday. Iam trying to find out when I return to work, will I be able to put a girdle on without messing up my lapband.

Can someone tell me the importance of getting the protein shake in everyday? What if you miss a few shakes? Does it stop your weight loss?

For those who hasn't done the GI test as of yet. This had to be the worst medical test I have taken. They dr will give you this stuff that taste like alkselzer. And then followed by a chalky thick drink. After you drink it he will watch it go down your throat to your stomach and then tell you to lay down and turn over about 8 times. By then I felt like it was about to come back up. After the test is over you will have to burp abut 10 times. Just a lil warning for those who haven't taken the GI test.

Did anyone have the last supper (dinner) before they started the pre-op diet?

Did you taste buds change after being banded? I'm just wondering I will still have a taste for my favorite meals.

It took 30 days for me to get an answer from Cinga PPO. They denied me. And then I appealed it and was approved 2 weeks later. Good Luck

I had my sleep study done last weekend. The dr. called me and ask me to come back in on Wednesday to do a split study with the c-pap machine. If they call you in for a 2nd sleep study more than likely you have sleep apena. My tech didn't tell me anything, but they will call you with the results.

I was able to borrow these books from my local library.

After I had my c-section my skin was itching too and the dr. told me to buy a small bottle of vitamin E oil. It works.

How do you handle emotional eating after you are banded?

I am a single mom with a 3 year old son. What type of things can I do to over come eating when I'm not hungry?

As I am getting closer to my surgery date I am having vivid dreams. I am excited about having it and I have made up my mind about this. Has anyone else experienced this?

I work in a professianl setting and all my clothes are fitting tight right now. What did you were back to work a week after surgery? I am trying to avoid going out to buy more clothes after surgery. Did tight fitting clothes irritate your incisions?

Does anyone use crystal light during the pre op diet?

Last Friday I completed my lab work for the surgery with my primary care doctor. Today I get a call from my primary care doctor saying I had some type of bacteria in my stomach. And some of the results came back positive. Tomorrow afternoon I will go see him to get a prescription to fixed this. Has anyone else had this problem so close to surgery? If so was your post-poned?

Don't feel bad cause I was calling them twice a week until I received an approval from the insurance company. You have to be persistent.
