May 1 here. Surgery went well didn’t stay in the hospital long don’t pack much. You will shower at home and wear their hospital stuff. Maybe pack phone charger and phone I’m home now and walking. Had first bowel movement yesterday what a relief I’m not constipated. I found boost max 30 G protein in strawberry. Omg heaven everything is room temp. The protein shakes and water. Can’t sip too fast. My new tummy don’t like that. But I look at my garden and pick and play. Bending is hard and hurts but that’s the only pain make sure before surgery you tell your pharmacist to have your current meds liquid. It will save a lot of yucky taste be well your going to be great!!

Hello I’m sue and I’m 47 have fought with ups and downs of diets and ended gaining the weight back once I stopped the pills. Powders. Whatever I was trying at the time I started this journey in August 2018 and this is my surgery month. I have been cleared by all my doctors cardiologist neurologist psychiatrist general dr. You name it. Plus. I have stopped smoking because of this ( needs to) I’m not exactly scared. But more nervous. I still can’t loose weight. And it’s hard. Really when your obiese it’s hard to do just about anything. I do walk my dogs probably 8 or more times a day for about 15 minutes and found on YouTube some exercises for elderly people because they don’t push you so much I’m looking for advice on how to overcome the weight thing. And looking for some friends on here to chat with and cheer each other on Anxious I’m ct

So I can’t figure out this site. I want to add May surgery to the line up. I’m going for the by-pass on May 1. I’m doing the pre op diet now and it’s not that bad. I started this journey at 229 lbs and am at 190 now. Hoping to loose 6-10 pounds before surgery. Which can’t be hard. I exercise with YouTube and walking my dachshund pups who keep me active Insurance is approved and wow this is really happening. Can’t believe it. I’m so excited for this I am 4 foot 9 And being this weight. I kinda look like a blob and I think once I loose this weight I’ll love myself. I like me now. But will love me later I have a support system. My sister and boyfriend and his family And I still see my Counceling people. Why. Because they are helping me out a lot. And thought with a group of may surgery people we will have something in common Yeah for May !!!!! -
KimTriesRny. You could try Geocaching. It’s an outside treasure hunt where you use your iPhone or gps unit and you walk. Hike. Etc. they have events anywhere and everywhere and it’s mostly free. ( you can go premium for 30.00 a year ). I am dropping weight all the time ( before surgery) yeah me. By geocaching. Just an option for meeting people. Www.geocaching.com

Ejmom. That’s a good idea. I’m making a list to pack early. I live 1500 feet from the hospital. Lol.

I’m a shorty 😀 Starting weight. 224 Goal weight 130 I have been eating an 800 calorie diet so it will be easier to transcend to the next stage after the water and protein shakes. There’s no want for food. So I’m good there. I have been walking my dogs for exercise and it’s nice here today. Yesterday it snowed. But today my spring flowers wanna open. Can’t wait to get my surgery date. Blinds going stir crazy not knowing. Hope all is well with everyone

Hello mearas. Nice to meet you I do keep a journal I saw the neurologist today ( I’m under stroke precaution ) she warned me about the risk. And I agreed and said if the next stroke puts me in a chair. Who wants the job of lifting me no one. She agreed I keep a meal diary. I haven’t been put on the pre op diet yet Which is what I’m waiting for maybe the dr office will call tomorrow for a visit. Crossing fingers. It feels like I have waited soooo long for this opportunity for a new life. It will be an adjustment but I can do it. -
