  2. With my bmi 32. I was going to be self pay so it isnt an insurance issue.I feel now after reading several comments, I will continue with weight watchers and hopefully lose 30. Thx so much Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I know. That is concerning to me about gerd. Some people its worse. Some say it's not a problem. I am beginning to think the sleeve is not for me at this time, with 30 to 35 # to lose. Isn't it ironic that this is one time in your life you wish you were heavier to meet the criteria. Thx for your comments Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Hell no. I'm 67 years old not concerned with my looks. I'm really wanting to be healthier. Sleep apnea, high cholesterol, gerd. I've been carrying this extra 30 to 40 # For years and tired of being tired. I understand liposuction is for contouring only. I just keep losing and gaining the same 20 lbs. I appreciate your comments thx Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Thank you for the info. I figured that there are a lot more success stories out there.. that helps me make a more informed decision. Sounds like you have done wonderful. I'm thinking about the liposuction because I have the Apple shape. All my weight is in my middle and bat wing arms. My legs and thighs are fine. You do lose 10 to 12# with liposuction so I figured I might be able to lose the other 30 on my own. Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app

    MAY 2019 Sleevers

I just got approved by Dr Corvala in Tijuana. Probably last of may. Still have to schedule. Still a little nervous regarding possible complications. Leaks, gerd symptoms, nausea, so many people comment on those issues, I'm a nurse and bmi of 32. 40# to lose. Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app

  9. For those of you who have gerd prior to sleeve procedure, just wondering how your gerd symptoms are after the sleeve procedure. I take prevacid daily and it's well under control. I do no want to have gastric bypass which is what is recommended sometimes if you have gerd. I've read where it's not such a problem for some people. Comments are appreciated Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. No. Absolutely not. I appreciate your comments. The more I know the better decisions I can make Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app

  13. Hi Mary. I am considering application with Dr Ortiz. How are you doing after the procedure Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I don't have any answers as I am researching the application vs sleeve. It sounds like a logical procedure but I'm concerned about possibly poor weight losses. I'm looking at Tijuana. Some very good surgeons there. I'm interested in application because I read that GERD improves Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Dr Ariel Ortiz OCC

I'm researching him. I'm thinking of the gastric plication vs the sleeve. He sounds very experienced with that procedure. A toss up between OCC, Dr Corvala at Angeles hospital, or Dr Garcia at Tijuana bariatric center. Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Plication

Thx for your comment. I like it because it's less invasive. My BMI is 31. So I have about 40 lb to LOSE. Thinking this May the way to go Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. I know what you mean. I'm on the fence as I have 40 to LOSE. Just not working with weight watchers. ( for the bazillion time) BMI is 31. I also have gerd. Been on prevacid for years and am on cpap. Sounds a lot like you. Its good to hear the surgery improved your gerd and sleep apnea. I'm still researching the sleeve and have 35 # to LOSE. 5'6 203# how about you if you don't mind me asking Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. Good for you who in Mexico?. I'm researching Tijuana Bariatric Center with Dr Garcia. I was scheduled for this week. Then decided to wait and see if I can LOSE the 35# with weight watchers . At the end of April if I haven't lost 10 lb I'm seriously looking into the sleeve again sick of being fat. Good luck Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. Thank you. I'm really starting to think in favor of the sleeve. Even with only 35 # to LOSE, the weight is just not coming off. I'm giving it the month if April to LOSE 10 lb on weight watchers. If that doesn't happen, I will make my decision. Sick of weighing 200 . Appreciate your comments Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Thank you. Very informative. I will definitely check that out. The good thing it's very well controlled with prevacid. 30 mg. Appreciate the comments Sent from my SM-J727V using BariatricPal mobile app
