YES! I still get somewhat hungry when its time to eat, but, one bite of food and I'm grossed out. I finish because I have to but its so depressing!

when you all say "slippery slope", what exactly do you mean? You will end up eating too much? Or they lead to other bad foods? Not sure I understand. Thanks!

Just that we all went through the same thing! Don't worry too much, you will do great and will be so glad once its over!

Your doctor or nut will most likely tell you never. But there are several people on this site that have had alcohol with no ill effects. I myself have had a small amount at 2 months out and was fine. I think its a very individual thing.

Following this thread as well. I am 5'2" and started my journey at 213. Lost 25 lbs prior to surgery, so weighed right at 185 at surgery. They say that is why I am losing so slowly now. Only 23 lbs in 11 weeks, averaging just under 10 lbs a month. I guess I'll be happy if I stay losing at this rate, but I'm afraid I'm slowing down even more as we go along. What is everyone else's experience so far?

My surgeon gave permission for me to take pills/capsules whole from day one. No problems here.

Believe it or not I can drink mine black now, no creamer needed. That, or I mix it one part coffee, one part Premier Protein shake & pour over ice. Nice iced latte without the price.

I am two months out and cannot tolerate spicy food, I used to love it! Hoping it gets better as time passes.

I literally just said this same thing a few days ago. I get absolutely no pleasure from eating anymore. Almost a necessary evil.

@summerset - that second video is interesting. Have you experimented with eating vegetables first? I'm curious about the effects of that type of diet vs. the Protein first approach so many surgeon's recommend.

Hoping someone can shed some light on why I might be feeling so sad & weepy. I'm 5 weeks out from GSV and feel great otherwise. I am also diagnosed with depression, but it was under total control before surgery. Do you think feeling sad & wanting to cry is normal, or could my meds not be working as well? I hate to tell my psychiatrist as she didn't want me to have the surgery in the first place. Thanks in advance for your insights.

Diagnosed with depression and anxiety here. My psychiatrist told me I wouldn't get approved on the psych eval either. Just goes to show what she knows. Passed with flying colors and had my surgery 5/20. Don't stress, but don't spill your guts either.

My nut was very specific about no caffeine. I wouldn't recommend it.

My surgeon said 6-8 weeks to avoid risk of infection at the incision sites.

every 2-3 days is normal for me and I'm still pre-surgery. I'm terrified how bad it will be afterwards!

I plan on trying some wine when I am 10 weeks out as we have a "girls trip" planned to Vegas. Can't go to Vegas and not indulge just a little bit.

Extremely. Keep thinking about all the things that could go wrong. During AND after!

I've been doing one Protein Shake a day for about 6 weeks. Now for pre-op diet I have to do 2 Meal Replacement Protein Shakes for 2 weeks.
I don't want to/forget to eat

Question for those of you that have gone through something similar. I simply don't want to eat. I'm 5 months post VSG and I am not hungry at all. I know I should be eating 3 meals a day with 2 healthy Snacks in between to get all my Protein in. However, I'm just not hungry. I'm either forcing myself to eat 3 bites of something before the restriction sets in, or I will completely forget to eat altogether. Should I continue forcing myself to eat something when my body doesn't want it?
