    Stomach lump 4 months post-op

Is it possible that you have a hernia? I have an umbilical hernia and it is above my belly button and looks like your lump. My Dr told me he would not remove mine during the sleeve surgery as they tend to grow back during weight loss surgery. I would get a second opinion.

    Almost done with the nightmare

I have been reading about your situation on other posts but am glad to read here you finally got the feeding tube removed and are doing better.

Leak failed to heal. Now having surgery

oh no, it (a leak) happened again! Was it the same Dr that did the WLS that did this new one? I am so sorry you have gone through so much with these surgery. I looked at your profile and didn't see your location or pounds lost. Yes the pounds lost is great but at what expense? It is time to change your profile to show the weight loss. Did all these problems happen in the USA?

    Severe shoulder pain

So glad to hear it is not a leak. Hope you don't get it again. Please update us if you do and they finally find out what the problem is.

    Severe shoulder pain

What a shame the Dr didn't do a leak test and pushed you out of his office. I would have tried t sue him for neglect.. I am so sorry you had your whole stomach removed. Good to hear you are recovery and learning how to eat with the new stomach that was created.
  6. WOW what a shame that it has not been fixed. I have no problem seeing my pages and all of your friends as well. That is odd. Have you mentioned it to Alex the founder?
  7. Elode you have 5 pages of friends. Why is it that you can only see the first page? Did you know underneath the manage friends title it lists the pages. You just have to click on any other page and you can see all the friends you have.
  8. Someone can become a friend just by clicking on your name and at your profile page click add you as a friend. Ifyou don't want them as a friend, go up to the little wheel near your name at the top right of the page. Do a left click go down to manage friends and you will see the friends listed and then you can delete that person.

Advice, Please - Surgeon vs. NUT

Sounds like that NP needs more training and knowledge. I have never heard of keeping Protein below 75 that is crazy. I would follow what the NUT said. Good luck!

    Severe shoulder pain

Based on the fact there has been no reply from Runner1 in a few days I would say that it was not gas pain and the ER found something else was wrong. Sure do hope your getting the medical attention you need and will be back home soon. Good luck with everything. For those who mentioned leaks did the Dr not do a leak test after surgery?

    Clear Liquid Diet

Based on the fact you said you are at work I think it is safe to say you have not had your surgery yet? This the preop diet before surgery you are speaking of? Correct? I have a 1 day clear liquid diet before surgery. Sorry I can't help you but maybe others will be able to.
  12. I went to see the cardiologist for a cardiac eval and walked out with out one. The Dr saw something and wants a 2 day stress test. Nov 23rd is my last appt with the surgeon for my 6 month supervised diet. He wanted all the evaluations into him on that date. Well it isn't going to happen as I have the Breathing test on the 25th. Now the 2 day stress test can't be done until Dec 2 and 3rd. The results will be told to me on Dec 7th. So I don't know now if I will be having my sleeve and gallbladder surgery in Jan or not. I am having no problems and thought this would be a very easy and quick evaluation. Sure hope whatever the Dr found is nothing. However if it is, it was good that it was discovered before I was on the table.
  13. BLERDgirl I certainly hope that is true. However I do like to be prepared for all situations considering that my throat is dry and sore throughout the night and every single morning when I wake up. I have a container of Water hanging from my nightstand knob and never go anywhere without my water.

    Bariatric Dating Website?

When I did a search in google on this topic, 2 site popped up. I know nothing about them and don't even know if I am allowed to post them here. Once I have my surgery and start losing I will probably check into them as I have been divorced for over 10 years now. I have been on the SSBBW sites and still have not found my second partner in life. I am not sure I would want to be on the "normal" dating sites and have to explain every time I start chatting or truly do meet someone why it is that I am not wanting to go out to eat. I am truly hoping after the surgery to be able to walk again and become so involved in other activities that I can just leave the whole on line dating scene and meet people in my day to day activities I will be doing.

Help! I Don’t Want to Lose My Hair!

Thanks Alex for this valuable information. I heard about the Biotin but this is the first i have heard of Silica. Is that a Vitamin that can be obtained over the counter? I haven't had the surgery yet, been on a 6 month supervised diet. Each day I am seeing more and more hair in my brush. I think my age may have something to do with it, but I am afraid I will lose even more after the surgery.
  16. Ellie123 You mention you had pain meds which helped the sore throat. What about others who experienced this? What were you allowed to take? I am always sucking on sugar free cough drops or the ACT lozenge for my day to day normal dry mouth syndrome. If there is a tube going down my throat during my gallbladder and sleeve surgery I am sure I will wake up with the throat pain you all are experiencing too. I want to be prepared as I am in enough pain with my disability and I am dreading the additional pain from the surgery include throat pain.
  17. I am so sorry to hear the insurance is doing this to you. I hope the surgeon can convince everyone during the peer to peer review of the need for you to have the surgery. When I was denied in 2008 for the lapband. I told the Dr's staff I didn't care what they did but I was not about to pay for all the classes etc that the insurance would not pay for. Well they worked some kind of magic with the codes or too a loss as I never got a bill for any of the different classes I had to take back than. Now I am in my 6th month of a supervised diet and I am hoping and praying this new insurance will not deny me the sleeve. Please let us know the outcome. I WISH YOU THE VERY BEST!!!
  18. Thanks for the info on the breathing test. I have mine on the 25th. Tomorrow I see the cardiologist for clearance, hopefully. My surgery hasn't been scheduled yet but the Dr is looking at some time in Jan. The 23rd of this month is my last supervised diet visit.
  19. Congrats on the date. I wish I would get mine! WOW! A lot of you after this posting got your dates in Jan. Some of you also have birthdays in Jan. So do I. Mine is Jan 24th and I will be 60. Would be nice to have my surgery date for my Birthday gift. A new birth heading into my elderly years.
  20. I am so sorry to hear you are suffering so with your throat. I have not had surgery yet, but this is one of my fears. My throat is always dry and I am afraid I too will wake up and have a terrible sore throat. Also worried about getting a severe leg cramp. When I get them at home I have meds I take immediately and it still take 5 minutes for the meds to set it. I hope your throat gets better real soon as not being able to swallow is not good. Hopefully others who have had their surgery will reply to you.

"Re-sleeving surgery?" Is that really a "thing?"

I saw that same posting and was confused as I didn't know that re-sleeving was possible.
  22. My last of 6 months visit is Nov 23rd. The surgeon wanted all the test done by then, but the insurance was very slow with the referrals and now the pulmonary Dr had no opening until the 25th. I am hoping this will not cause a delay. I still have no surgery date but it was suppose to be in Jan.

    pre-op diet

My surgery date has not be set yet but I have been on a supervised 6 month high Protein low carb diet. When I mentioned I thought that after this supervised diet the 2 week shake pre-op diet should be a bit easier. I was told I wouldn't have a 2 week shake pre-op diet. I would be on Clear liquids the day before surgery.
  24. Wow that is a lot of appointments for one day. Hope everything went well and you get your surgery date. What was the pulmonary function test like? My last weigh in is Nov 23rd. They wanted to submit my paperwork that day but unfortunately I can't get my pulmonary function test until Nov 25th. I have the cardiac testing set for next Thursday. I am hoping that will be the EKG and whatever else the cardiac Dr has to check me for. My insurance is extremely slow and the Pulmonary Office is slow too. I was hoping for early Jan for my surgery but at this rate it is looking more like late Jan. To be done with my weigh in Nov 21st and not have surgery until late January is a long time for me to go without weigh ins. I am afraid of the holidays coming up and the temptations and that I will splurge and gain weight. I don't have to be at a certain weight for surgery, but I was trying to get as close to 300 as I could. I am hoping you get your surgery in December so you can begin this new life. I wish I would have my date all ready at least that might give me something to look forward to instead of not even knowing if I will be approved.
  25. I got my order yesterday. That was fast and the bars didn't arrive melted like the other store I ordered from in the past. Thanks for all the samples. The other store sends out samples too but you sent out lots more. I should be set now until after surgery, hopefully in Jan 2016. Thanks again from a very pleased customer.
