My Stomach Itches!!!
Boxeremma replied to Boxeremma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for all the replies, I have taken the steri strips off and it is starting to feel better. I have a lot of little red bumps ll over the place, but the itching has really eased up a lot. Thanks again, -
OMG!!!!!! I have itched my stomach in places that has made me raw. I was banded on May 12th and my steri strips have not fallen off yet. Has anyone else had a lot of itching on their stomach? If so, what can you do. Thanks,

WOW! Thats so cool, I did not notice that. I am feeling good. My port site is still really sore. I started back to work yesterday and that totally wore me out. Sitting in a chair with my port hurting is not the best thing in the world. How are you feeling? Do you feel like you have any restriction? My doctor said since my stomach would be swollen, I would feel like I was restricted, and that should go away in a week or two, and so far it has not. I am never hungry, and I am having a hard time getting in my protien and water. I think the most water I have drank in a day is 30 ounces. When I drink my protien shake, it takes me forever to drink it and when I finish it has filled me up for almost the entire day. My liquid diet consisted of protien drinks and water. But hey I am not complaining or nothing, I lost 14 lbs on the 1 week preop diet and have lost 4 in the week since surgery.

This was my preop diet.....IT WAS AWESOME!!! But so is my surgeon. I only had to be on it for 7 days and I lost 14.6 lbs. Meal 1 - 1 serving of 2 of the following: yogurt, fruit, eggs, Cereal, toast, bagel, waffle, muffin (i.e., 1 serving of yogurt & 1 egg or an apple and a muffin). Meal 2 - 1 serving of an approved Protein drink (see list below) Meal 3 - 1 serving (4-6 ounces) of any type of lean meat or fish (chicken, pork, turkey, beef) - and - 1 serving of a green vegetable (lettuce, peas, broccoli, green Beans, spinach, etc) Meal 4 - 1 serving of an approved Protein Drink DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!!!!

Come on over, there is plenty of room for you!!!! I will pray for you daily that you do not have to go throught what I went through. I wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy. What state do you live in? Do you know what kind of pre-op diet your doctor is going to put you on? My pre-op diet was awesome. For Breakfast I could have a scrambled egg and toast. For lunch I could have a lean meat and a green vegtable. For an afternoon snack a protien shake, and for dinner a protien shake. The doctor said they didn't care what order I had them in, so I could have breakfast for dinner or dinner for lunch. As long as I was getting in those 4 small meals it did not matter when in the day I had them. It was really great!!!! After day 2, I was fine. I could sit with others that were eating and just drink my shake. Also, I only had to be on it for 1 week. In that week, I lost 14.6 lbs. I was so excited. Keep me posted on your progress and I will be praying for you.

I hate BCBS of Michigan. I have good news and bad news. The bad news....Legally they only have 45-60 business days to make a decision and get back to you. Long story short they took 84 business days to get my decision. They kept telling me and Lap Band Solutions that they do not do pre-approvals and I have coverage for that service. My benefits stat that I have coverage if I meet x...y...z criteria. Lap Band Solutions and was trying to get an approval from BCBS saying I met those criteria. It was a very frustrating process and I called both them and Lap Band Solutions daily. I also went so far as to file a complaint with the Department of Insurance in Michigan. The good news.....They did approve me. They approved me on April 30th and I had my surgery on May 12th. I am a little sore, but overall doing great. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. My advise to you is hang in there. It sounds like you are at the beginning of the process, it will be long, but don't give up. Feel free to email me anytime you have questions. Christina

Update on my May 12th Surgery....
Boxeremma replied to CaliGirl626's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on May 12th also. My surgery went great, but the recovery so far has been hell. I have had a lot of gas. I have been sucking on the gasx strips like they are going out of style. I have been using a heating pad and have been up and walking around. My insiscions are a little sore, but nothing like the gas. I am glad the rest of the may 12th bandsters are doing ok. I am going to go lay down now.
