Tomorrow's the big day for surgery
Losingit2018 replied to danny29's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thinking if you today, Danny. I know that you will do great!! Looking forward to welcoming you to the losers bench -
Good point. Pretty sure she said she gets nauseated if she takes even one additional bite though. It is the same for me if I eat even a smidgeon over what I can hold. Totally normal stuff.

I am 6 weeks post op and experiencing the same thing. I saw my dr a few days ago and was told that as long as I get my protein and fluids in, I am doing fine. they said that some people take a little longer for the swelling to go down so there is no concern at this point. you most likely are experiencing the dreaded 3 week stall. Stick to your program and it will break. hang in there!

I got some of the coffee flavored awhile back. It was very good but it had more sugar in it than I wanted to have in my shakes. I gave them away. i do use fairlife milk to mix my syntrax nectar with though.

Tomorrow's the big day for surgery

I think that everyone or at least most have the same anxiety before surgery. Try your best to relax. Have faith in your surgeon and know that a brand new life is getting ready to open up for you. if you are still anxious when you get to the hospital let your dr know. They will give you something to help you relax. This part will be behind you soon. -
3 weeks post op & now gaining weight.... why ?
Losingit2018 replied to Arthur Belly's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Try not to weigh yourself so often as it can get discouraging. I bounce around a lot too no matter if I am eating solid food or not. Follow the plan as you are and the weight will come off. good luck! -
I was hungry after my sleeve back in start of 2018. It was real hunger and I am sure of it. just got revised to bypass 6 weeks ago. Thankfully this time around I am not hungry anymore. head hunger can be hard to deal with though. My dr told me that if it is real hunger you are hungry for anything. If you get hungry for something specific, it is most likely head hunger. hang in there. It does get better.

If I were in your shoes, I would contact the surgeon that you plan to use and ask for their advice. They are experienced dealing with insurance companies n your area. They may be able to give you some options that are easy to work with. good luck! -
My dr only asked that I wait 6 weeks to drink caffeinated coffee.

straight from the ada Diabetics should eat 4-5 small meals during the day instead of three larger meals, says the American Diabetes Association (ADA). This practice allows for a slower, continuous absorption of food, which prevents your body from ever switching over to a fasting state. Among the benefits are decreased blood sugar levels after meals, reduced insulin requirements during the course of the day and lower blood cholesterol levels. Eating several small meals may also decrease your hunger and reduce the overall number of calories you eat during the day. -

Right I was not implying that a diabetic should snack between meals. Like I said they should definitely not fast and eat smaller meals at regular intervals. diabetes runs heavily in my family. I was my moms caretaker before she recently passed for the last 15 years. Been to many nutrition and diabetic support classes. eating one or two larger meals is not what a diabetic should do at all. Several smaller meals keep bs stable i myself have been on every diet known to man. The one that I lost the most weight and felt my best was the GI Diet. We ate small portions of low GI foods every 3 hours or so. That is based on glycemic index and is how it is recommended for a diabetic to eat. -
What she ^^^^^ said!!! you both look great together.

Signs to stop smoking
Losingit2018 replied to Ayub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so you quit before surgery and started again 4 days after? This will impede healing time tremendously. I do hope that you are able to stop for good. Mind over matter -

To the contrary. Eating several small meals per day will help to keep your bs stable. Worst thing for bs is to skip meals and only eat one or two larger meals. give it a shot and see how it goes. -
How important is the no drinking before?
Losingit2018 replied to Ellf's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
If I forget and drink too close to eating, I get very very sick. It has only happened a few times. I was researching caffeine after surgery and read this in one of the health articles. Caffeine causes dehydration and acts as an appetite stimulant. Carbonation can cause increased bloating and discomfort, especially after gastric bypass surgery. Drinking too soon before or after a meal will cause fullness and may lead to dumping syndrome. -
Possible Rectocele

Good luck and please do keep us posted. -
I agree with miralax been taking it once to twice per day for 12 years now. Very safe and gentle. not safe to go more than 3 days without bm. Could end up dealing with a blockage.

6 days since surgery and my abs finally aren't hurting.

Your incisions are looking good! Totally different places that mine though. Of course mine was a revision from sleeve. I have one directly inside my belly button and one on the right side of belly. The others are all below my belly button. mine was also done robotically. I see another little cutie back behind Bruno. Did he get to go for a walk too? actually the more I look I think your incisions are about the same as mine were for sleeve. -
Has anyone figured out a good way to get the bubble layer out of our protein isolate shakes?
Losingit2018 replied to Slimming Down Steve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol I bought a huge 5 pound container of unflavored 2 years ago. Big mistake on my case as I will never use it all. the bp store here does have sample packs when you are ready to try it. -

Great news! I knew you would pass it. I quit for 5 years once. I had to also stop drinking coffee and alcohol because they were triggers. After five years I went out and had a few social drinks. That was it. I started smoking again. It is a life long battle to kick that addiction. -

I mix mine in a shaker cup. As long as I put my fairlife milk in first and the powder in second, I don’t get any bubbles or foam. If I put powder first I do get lots of bubbles and foam. I use syntrax nectar
