The link in the first post isn’t working for me. I am here on my phone so maybe that’s the problem? It actually does not even look like a link as posted. It is not underlined -

That is all stated in the rules on their site. eta not that there is anything wrong with double checking. I don’t think that people a year or more out really have an advantage over people that have not had surgery. I know that I don’t. I never lost my appetite at all and have struggled to even get as far as I am now. -

Fluffy has done so well before and after surgery that I am note sure if she needs or wants to lose more? Unlike myself who needs all of the motivation I can get. -

My posts are now posting in triplicate. I guess that I will just check back in tomorrow and see if the issues are fixed. Wish that there had been a way for me to just change my password with the old account. I will be patient though. -

I am just over 1 year out and my weight loss has slowed drastically. That is the main reason that I am looking forward to some motivation doing this -
I agree with the others. Protein is an important part of the healing stage. Could you try and get in some protein shakes? If you can’t drink because of a physical issue preventing you, maybe you can at least try sucking on ice chips. You must get your fluids in. Hang in there. It really does get better.

Ok. Count me in too. I will sign up later today. Have the other 4 already started on the 28 day diet? Or are you waiting for more people to join? I get that the rules mean that a person can’t have bariatric surgery at any time within the 28 days. They are not saying that a person doesn’t qualify if they have the surgery before or after. I hope that more people will join. This may help me to get motivated to get some more weight off. -

I am interested if we get enough people on board -
Woohoo!!! Huge congratulations to you! As far as how long insurance approval takes, it depends on your insurance company. I have UHC. I was submitted for approval at 3:30PM one day and had approval by 9:00AM the next morning. I have seen people say that it has taken various people up to 2 weeks so you may need some patience. BTW- No harm in calling your insurance company daily to check on the status Starting tomorrow! Drs often wait for the letter to get to them from the insurance company to know if you are approved or not. I knew before my surgeons office because I called. Good luck!

any sleevers in their late 50's
Losingit2018 replied to tahoegirl96118's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 55 and had surgey March 26, 2018. I will not lie. I was in some pretty severe pain the first day. It did get better quickly though. I am 4.5 months out and have lost 61 pounds total (includes pre op loss) I often feel like the loss is very slow but, I don't remember a time in my life that I was able to drop 60 pounds so quickly. -
I need help with taking vitamins!!! PLEASE give me some feedback!
Losingit2018 replied to Dfox1984's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes. The Calcium requires 4 per day. I do wait about 4 hours after taking my multi. Then I chew 2 calcium (also taste pretty good) then I wait until evening and chew two more. They work very, very well for me. https://www.unjury.com/opurityr-calcium-citrate-plus-chewable.html These great tasting chewables are designed by medical experts to support bone health and more. OPURITY® uses calcium citrate, one of the most absorbable forms of calcium. Four (4) tablets provide 1200 mg Calcium and 800 IU of Vitamin D3. OPURITY is unique because it has No Ingredients from China. With Purity you get Great Taste. -

Yep! That is what I love most about them. They also came highly recommended by my bariatric team/nutritionist. I am required to use chewable for life since they are the most easily absorbed. -

Yes! I take Opurity sleeve and bypass optimized. It only costs $10 per month but, the only place to buy it is Unjury. I think that their shipping is $7 worth it for me because I use their calcium and multi. If you have any trouble chewing it, try sucking on it. Taste is similar to a sweet tart to me. https://www.unjury.com/opurity-bypass-sleeve-optimized-chewable-new-formulation.html -

Try binging on healthy stuff though. Cottage cheese or greek yogurt and fruit. Chicken salad and a few whole grain crackers, etc Once you get the carbs/sugar out of your system, you will not crave them like you do now. Foods with protein are very satisfying and almost impossible to overeat. Continuing the carbs will keep you hungry and craving them. Empty carbs are not filling. Instead they increase the appetite and make us crave more.
