I haven’t had exactly that happen but, I have significant tailbone pain now that I did not have pre op. Some days I am barely able to sit down. I still have another 50 pounds left to lose so it isn’t that I am just bony now. I feel sure it has something to do with my surgery. I will be following this thread.

Cost of surgery -- WOW

Sometimes they bill the insurance company like that knowing that the insurance company is going to cut it down to their allowable costs -
Has anyone heard of Malabsorption Gastric Bypass
Losingit2018 replied to Sharon B A's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know that initial thoughts must be disappointing that you did not get what you expected. However most people do very well with a bypass. Try to stay positive and see how it goes. Like with any wls you will lose the weight if you follow your plan. -
You might be surprised to find out that really good coffee is almost non existent these days. It has been really hard for us to find something that tastes good. The low acid varieties are about the only ones thAt we really like.

Yes I get mine from amazon. Lucy joes or Pureroast. I know that the bp store here sells some as well.

Some drs Instruct their patients to give it up and others say it’s fine. I had the bravo acid test a few weeks back. While I was wearing the monitor I could see what different foods/drinks would increase acid. So I tried a regular full acid cup of coffee just to see. My acid levels were actually lower while I drank the coffee. There is a ton of research out there dispelling the myth that coffee increases stomach acid. I encourage people to talk to their drs and do some research on the subject.

I agree with all of your points except for coffee. I drink 1 cup of low or no acid coffee each day. I feel safe with this and do not intend to give up my one cup of coffee per day. Always best to follow drs orders. interesting info on coffee consumption https://www.coffeeandhealth.org/topic-overview/coffee-and-disorders-of-the-stomach/

I have read many, many good reviews of dr Scott. Matter of fact I wanted to use dr scott but I would have had to wait longer. You are in very good hands. -

Yes I used dr Eichhorn in Anderson but she is in with dr Scott. They are both very good. The hospital in Simpsonville that they do their surgeries at was very good as well. Are you having yours at Greenville Memorial or in Simpsonville? in Simpsonville they have an entire floor just for bariatric patients. Plenty of people to walk with in the middle of the night -

That stuff has black box warning and can be very dangerous. I have not smoked in 10 years now. i am glad that it worked for you.

Because cigarettes are very addictive. Much like some here are addicted to food, others are addicted to cigs.

Did you have to do the same pre op diet for your revision? I know that it varies widely from dr to dr but I am curious -
Revision of RNY
Losingit2018 replied to Notthe1sttime's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
The scheduler was out of the office today so I am waiting for her to call me with a date. The nurse told me that she thinks my dr is booked until late August/ Early September. I know that the complication rate from a second surgery is greater than that of a first so I am very nervous about it. -

Wow! I haven’t been here much but I had no idea your revision was so soon. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. It is looking likely that I too will need to revise due to gerd:( I am so not happy about it because I know that revisions surgery carries greater risk for one thing. For another I just don’t want a bypass and that is why I went with the sleeve to start. I am more afraid to revise than I was to have my initial sleeve surgery. I wish you a speedy recovery and I will be paying closer attention to this thread. -
