  1. Get some flavor drops or flavor packets to help with the water. Just make sure that they are sugar free. I make a gallon of kool aid at a time using Splenda. This helps me to get my liquids in. Maybe take some high protein snacks to work and eat those when you are tempted with the carbs. You can do this!! Many of us have made it through before you. Not easy but doable

Bypass revision for GERD after sleeve

I just had this surgery along with hernia repair after sleeve. I was not at my goal weight at the time of revision but, @GreenTealael may be able to chime in here with info. Good luck!!

    Poop problems after cleanse

I was wondering about that soup. I wasn’t able to have that during the cleanse. It just may be your problem. Good luck with your surgery tomorrow! Please keep us posted.

    Poop problems after cleanse

Yes. It should be clear liquid coming out. I was concerned about my pre op cleanse because it consisted of 4 oz miralax in32 oz Powerade. This never works for me. When I told my doc this he said that he was only concerned that my intestines were clear. Not so much my colon. Why not call the dr on call just to ease your mind? it still may run clear before the night is out.

This has become too much! PLEASE HELP

Meatballs, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs. Plus there are some great frozen options for wls patients at Walmart. My nutritionist pointed them out to me. sous vide eggs with veggies and frittatas come to mind. Plus I always have leftovers from the night before. Mostly I just cook things that my husband and I can both eat. Even if you end up making something with carbs in it that you can’t eat, pick the carbs out and eat vegetables and meat. I have an instant pot and can make delicious, healthy meals in a snap.

    Frustration with bariatric team

    Fingers crossed for you!

    Soft solids

Things like yogurt, eggs, cottage cheese, ground meat and creamed soups are on my plan. I would think twice about oatmeal since that is a high carb food best saved for maintenance imho.

    Constipation

I just had revision to bypass. I was taking dulcolax, miralax, mom, smooth move tea. Was constipated for 5 days until dr office told me to try an enema and magnesium citrate. I was told that if I had not gone by the evening of the fifth night I needed to go to er. You do not want to deal with obstruction or compaction. Nothing to take lightly.

    Frustration with bariatric team

If it is. Medicaid holding things up, maybe you need to call them. Ask them if there is anything that they lack in order to get you approved.

    Frustration with bariatric team

Start being a squeaky wheel. Call your team daily. Maybe even nicely let them know that you are getting annoyed having your life put on hold like this. Seriously call daily for update. Hopefully they will process you just to stop the calls. You are paying for their service so they work for you.

This has become too much! PLEASE HELP

I cook same stuff for family that I am able to eat smaller portions of. I also keep things on hand like good quality meatballs in the freezer. So easy to add sauce and mozzarella cheese for myself. Family can eat the same thing over spaghetti. Lots of great recipes at Bariatric Foodie that are also family friendly. I made a taco casserole from that site last night. Grandson and husband both loved it.

    Catheter

No I didn’t have one for my sleeve or my revision to rny.
  13. Take advantage of your “honeymoon” period. It gets much harder to lose or set healthy eating habits once it ends.

    Some inflammation

Did you guys know that you can still get stones in your bile duct after having gallbladder removed? I had mine out more than20 years ago. My GI recently told me of this. Matter of fact he said it is likely after about twenty years.

    Local Surgeons

You may want to go to the healthgrades or vitals dot com website and do a search. I have found that these sites give real reviews from real patients. Lots of info there. Good luck!

    Post Op Sex

My plan is very strict about this. It is 4 weeks out and even then have to be careful.

    Disgusted

I have been using them for quite awhile and have never swallowed one. It’s hatd to explain but they kind of suction to the gum and stay exactly in place. I use a cpap still as I have central ( not obstructive) sleep apnea as well which does not help with my dry mouth at all. The other thing that I do as instructed by hygienist during the day is suck on sugar free sour hard candy. That also stimulates saliva production.
  18. I just had a revision from sleeve to bypass due to gerd plus hiatal hernia repair. Pretty sure there are quite a few others here that have had to do the same.

    Disgusted

I have had extremely dry mouth from a medication for years. Be careful because I ended up losing my top teeth because of it. i do not want to lose bottom teeth so now I use what dental hygienist recommended for at night while I sleep. They are called xylimelts you put one between teeth and cheek. It dissolves through the night keeping your mouth wet. It stimulates the saliva. Got mine at amazon but there may be other places to get it.

    Some inflammation

Ice is good for inflammation if you use it 20 minutes off and 20 minutes on. I had revision to rny 2 weeks and getting some pretty bad back pain. I am using heating pad at night with no issues.
  21. Well, darn. I do hope that you get it sorted out soon. Darn shame but it seems like we have to have a medical degree these days just to handle our own medical care.

    Feeling so depressed

If you let them know that you are not able to come in until January they may tell you to advance. All the nut can do is talk to you. No physical exam. They should understand that you travel a distance and can’t take yet another day off work due to their inability to keep an appt. remember that they are working for you. Not the other way around

    Feeling so depressed

This just isn’t right. Could you call your surgeons office and tell them your situation. You should not be penalized because the nut was not able to follow through with an appt. you have to stand up for yourself. After you do it a few times, it gets easier. Goid luck to you and please keep us posted.

    No Pre-Op Liquid Diet?

My surgeon only requires the 2 week pre op liquid diet for folks that have a BMI of 40 or higher. Is your BMI under 40? That could explain it.
  25. Wow! That is awesome!!! I had my surgery back in 2018 and lost about half of that by the two month mark. Matter of fact, it took me 5 months to lose that much. Congratulations!!!
