Food Before and After Photos

Of course I remember Miami Vice! I never watched it but it was so popular everyone knew about it. I think we are about the same age. What a cool job @Sophie7713 -
My son said you also get put in a group and you track along with each other. It was funny, he said he was in a group with almost all women old enough to be his mother but he’s such a charmer he didn’t care. Because of his age etc.. he lost weight quicker and was very careful not to make anyone in his group feel bad. He felt like it helped change his relationship with food and he works out and runs everyday now. Something clicked.

I’m doing ok and my weight has stayed stable but it hasn’t been easy. My 31 year old son gained weight starting in college and mid 20’s. He tried weight watchers and he lost 25 pounds or so but wasn’t able to keep it off. He started Noom 16 months ago, he lost 50 pounds and is back to a healthy BMI of 21. He feels and looks great and has kept it off for the past 7 months.

This looks pretty bad but tastes excellent. Probably best described as an open face potstickers? I don’t use a lot of oil so the calories on this was about 300 Ground chicken with minced onion, red pepper and water chestnuts. Stir fried it with sesame oil, soy sauce, sambal oelek chicken stock and thickened with corn starch slurry. Just bake the wonton wrappers separately in a muffin tin. Takes about 5-6 minutes at 375. I would have added more veggies and scallions but I didn’t have them available! -

Had our first restaurant food since early March tonight, takeout of course. I love this restaurant, Gia Mia, and this salad so very much. Grilled shrimp, arugula, fennel, pine nuts and lemon vinaigrette. -

This hit the spot tonight. Grilled pork chop, grilled pineapple and green beans with almonds. Thanks for the recipe @sillykitty I’ll make that or a version of it soon! -
When did your hunger return? Your head hunger?
Cheeseburgh replied to lilfluffernutter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Everyone is different like @ms.sss said, although I pretty much followed the same hunger path she described. I’m 20 months out and my hunger varies wildly from one day to the next. I have days when I’m really hungry, but not ravenous, and other days I really don’t think about food much. I keep a lot of fruit (apples help) around so I’m ready during a hungry day. -

I bought Won ton wrappers for the first time in forever, I love having these around! I bake them in a muffin tin for 6 minutes with cooking spray and they get very crisp. The other night I filled them with chicken stir fry, (didn’t take a pic) tonight I had leftover taco meat so I gave that a whirl and it was super good. 3 wrappers are only 50 calories. -
I quit smoking and drinking but not in the same timeframe. I quit smoking 21 years ago, and drinking 5 years ago. Smoking was definitely harder, I used nicotine gum, patches and a drug (not sure, I was on it for 2 months) that helped. Quitting drinking was easier, however, only after I asked for and received counseling. I now drink mostly plain old water, but I have club soda with citrus, decaf ice coffee with sugar free creamer, or even a spicy V8 to mix it up a bit. If you feel like you are having trouble quitting, talk to your Doctor, there’s nothing to be ashamed of. My drinking was tied to my anxiety, which is very common. Best of luck to you! There’s help out there, *(smoking, eating & drinking) take advantage of it if you think it will benefit you.

First of all congratulations on your 62 pound weight loss! I was a slow loser also. I had surgery 8/13/18. I was 204 when I had surgery and in February of 2019 I was 162 which was a loss of 42 pounds. (same time frame I believe). I was tracking everything I ate and averaged 700 calories a day. It was super frustrating and it felt like a turning point for me. I joined a gym through my hospital that provided me with a personal trainer and went to the gym 4-5 days a week. I tightened up my diet and ate more protein and fewer carbs . I made the decision that 40-50 pounds was not going to be good enough for me personally. Don’t get me wrong, I was pissed that I had to work “harder” than other people to get results, but that wasn’t going to change my situation. Once I let that go and just accepted that I wasn’t doing anything wrong and that my slow metabolism wasn’t a character flaw, I found it easier to dig deep and work hard to reach my goal weight. On the positive side: I had more time to adjust my lifestyle and eating habits and I never take a pound for granted. I maintain my weight on 1300 calories a day, so you can see why it took me longer, I just can’t eat a lot without gaining. I have tons of tricks and tips and I don’t feel deprived... ok, sometimes I do....But it’s ok, I’d rather grab an apple or a kind bar than be overweight again. You aren’t done losing weight, it might come off slower but you can do it. Track 100% of what you eat hydrate the best you can (your boss sounds like a gem) Move, walk, workout if you can as much as possible. Wear a Fitbit or device that monitors your steps, set a goal and meet it everyday. Best of luck and wtg with your loss so far!

I don’t have an OOTD because I don’t freakin go anywhere. I do however have a painted floor of the day on the hobby thread, I’m SO geeked about it! @BayougirlMrsS I hope he recovers quickly and that you’re ok! I haven’t seen @AngieBear around, has anyone seen her?

I guess it doesn’t work without sweetener, it’s what fluffs it up. I’d just add more instant coffee. You must have a better hand mixer than me, mine took 3 minutes, or I think my bowl was too big? I used unsweetened almond milk so I liked how sweet mine was. Kahlua is a stroke of genius, every once and awhile I miss booze lol -

I ran across a recipe for Dalgona coffee and it looked so good so I made it. It’s really easy. 2 TBS instant coffee or espresso (I used decaf) 2 TBS Splenda (or sugar) and 2 TBS boiling water. Blend at a high speed with a hand mixer until it is mousse like, takes about 5 minutes. Scoop over milk of choice and stir as you go. I used almond milk. It’s really good! -
I used to like Top Chef, but now it makes me kinda sad because they are all out of work or struggling. I’m tired of Food Network, they are too sterile for me. I HATE the Pioneer Woman. My new favorite cooking ‘channel “ is Bon Appétit on YouTube. The most popular “show” on that channel is Gourmet Makes, although everyone in the test kitchen is naturally charming, smart and funny. Check it out if you have time, my son got me watching it. I love the Great British Baking Show on Netflix, although I do miss Mary Berry, Sue and Mel.

My sister likes a lot of Bravo shows. This is her theory why her husband likes the show; They have a nice boat, (not a yacht though!) she’s convinced he likes watching the captain docking the yacht.

Good to see you again! My sister and her husband LOVE Below Deck!

I just thought of a show that my sister bugged me for years to watch, Friday Night Lights. She was right it was my favorite binge to date, it’s such a great show. I also have the hugest crush on the actor Kyle Chandler.

Can you call your program or dietitian? You can’t retrain your body, it’s your mind that is doing most of the work. Having no energy can be a sign of depression too. If I were you I’d call my Doctor. You can do this. -
How are you doing? It’s tough adjusting to this.

Bon Appétit channel is so much fun, it’s turned into a real life version of the office!
