Best of luck with your surgery tomorrow! Today did cardio and a mix of the arm exercises. We had company this weekend and it was surprisingly easy to stick to my plan. 14. Lovely life: (disclaimer, my sister’s boathouse) Great place to relax and unwind.

Told to stop losing??
Cheeseburgh replied to NYJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all congratulations on your success and happy 1 year! I would be baffled too. I would understand if you had wonky bloodwork or you were closing in on an underweight BMI. I’m curious what her response will be when she responds to your message. I have my 1 year follow up next month, it went by so fast. Keep us posted. -
Here’s to a safe surgery on Monday and easy recovery @GreenTealael. I’m sure in a few weeks the relief will be well worth the struggle. I’m off schedule this weekend since we have guests visiting from out of state. I have time to hop on my elliptical for 20 minutes of cardio before I shower. I can probably sneak some arm exercises in too. The chair dips kill me. pictures: I drew a blank for Grace, other than Grace Kelly lol. Flowers: I took these in Hawaii and found them when scrolling through my phone today. I forgot I had them. I know a pineapple is not a flower, I was just amazed how they grow and I think they’re pretty. (I thought they grew on trees like coconuts) Happy weekend everyone!

Where is everyone from??

I’m in a Chicago suburb, I did live in Omaha for 4 years about 25 years ago. I really liked living there, it is so affordable! -
@Brent701 I listened to a Masterclass on the Calm app about mindful eating, I learned a lot by listening to it. I found the same Dr (Michelle May) on YouTube giving a Ted talk. She touches on a lot of food/psychology issues in a short period of time. Around the 6 minute mark she discusses eating fast. I wouldn’t recommend skipping ahead, it is only a 15 minute talk, but that’s up to you! It is not a bariatric specific talk so keep that in mind. Anyway, I thought you might find it helpful. I didn’t workout today but I went for a long walk, it is a perfect night out here. Attached is my “campfire” picture. We have a fire pit we never use, I finally found a use for it! I’m having way too much fun thinking stuff up..

I’m stumped so far for the campfire photo, although I have an idea....

@GreenTealael I missed what date you are getting your revision surgery. I just want to make sure I wish you the best of luck prior!

I have to hang around and wait for my new fridge to be delivered today. I dislike buying appliances and I hate waiting for deliveries. I have a lot of things I need to get done around the house so I’ll take advantage of this time to get some stuff done that I have been avoiding. I’m going to try and go to that yoga on the terrace again tonight, but there is a 50% chance of rain again so I’ll just wait and see if that works out. I apologize for sounding like Eeyore, I really have nothing to complain about. Easy arm exercises done for the day. 10. Coffee cup picture. I am picky. My sister gave me these Cath Kidston cups. They are the perfect weight, shape and size. I highly recommend them if you are in search of lighter weight pretty cups.

I think maintenance is going to be tricky for me since I tend to lose slower. I have been a consistent 134.8-135.2 for 12 days even though I’m still eating 700-800 calories and exercising in loss mode. I’ll probably drop a pound in a few days, but I never really know. I’ve never measured myself, I just gauge how clothes fit. I’m very close to my final goal of 132 and have no clear plan what to do when I get there other than gradual trial and error. My 1 year follow up is in August, so hopefully I can talk to the dietician. The bariatric RD just had a baby so I will be seeing the imposter lol

One more cup of coffee then off to the gym where I will incorporate arm exercises. I don’t feel like I’m getting any stronger, but I’ll keep trying. 9. Sunglasses. I used to have quite a collection since I was in optical sales. These are plain old converse I put on my frog.

Thank you. I thought it was counting how many vitamin units (or whatever they are called) in your food.

Am I the only person who doesn’t know what macros are?

This is a good reminder to be mindful of how I respond.

Went to the gym this morning and did cardio followed up by a mash up of the arm exercises. B-side. I have never been into shoes because I have such horrible feet! I would love to wear flip flops and sandals but I would just horrify people. I own about 20 pair. I wear 4 pair on a regular basis depending on the season. These are my newest in rotation. The Uggs are super comfy and I love the Navy espadrilles I got from Boden US. They feel a bit dressier than other ones I’ve had and they are super soft suede. I’m pretty boring.

Go figure, this is in a western suburb of Chicago in Northern Illinois! I drive by it all the time, it doesn’t look like much from the street. It really impressed me. There is a Japanese garden for meditation located in it. -
The 2 week liver shrinking diet is tough, I really am surprised you have to do it again. I thought it was required because when you are obese your liver is enlarged.. You got this, it does go by fast in hindsight, although in realtime it feels like slow-mo. eta. You look fabulous.

I didn’t do arm challenge today, however I did go for a 4 mile walk. I’ll do extra tomorrow at the gym. I’m to old for the term BFF. I’ve known my closest and dearest friend since 4th grade. We’ve been through elementary, middle & high school, college etc.. we even had kids 7 days apart one year. We don’t live in the same state and we don’t need to, although that would be nice. I’m really lucky to have found such a great person at such a young age. She’s coming to visit next weekend so I’m excited to see her. No pictures needed.

When can I have some rice? Lol
Cheeseburgh replied to dpendleton02's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think rice was the first real carby thing I tried. I was probably 4 months out and had no problems. I still eat rice, rice pilaf, and brown rice on occasion. I still limit it to 2-3 tablespoons. I am the type of person who has to add something starchy at times to stay sane. I just avoid potatoes and white bread because I love them too much. -

I ventured out to a park very close to my house today that I had never been to. What a nice surprise! -
I will be 1 year shy of 60, cancer free for 9 years. Going to the gym 4 days a week and eating healthy will just be who I am and not a big deal.

I used this almost daily the first few months. It is a small amount and easy to get down. The negative is it is sickly sweet and has an odd texture like thick syrup. I didn’t have any issues with it. Liqui-Cel

How do you increase your calories?
Cheeseburgh replied to KT1981's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Add a piece of fruit. It’s easy to add 100-200 calories even by mistake! -
Day 6 Quote: ”I want to be in the arena. I want to be brave with my life. And when we make the choice to dare greatly, we sign up to get our asses kicked. We can choose courage or we can choose comfort, but we can’t have both. Not at the same time.” ~Brené Brown Back home after a few days away. It was easy and I even had a few chips! I do have a rare talent, I can actually stop eating them after just a few. It helped that my family is pretty health conscious and active so we had grilled chicken, fresh fruit and salads at our fingertips. Hitting the gym in a bit and I’m going to do the toning arm set today. @ms.sss I have been alternating the 2. Now that I am back on schedule I’m planning to do the tone ones on days I go to the gym every other day. It’s easier there for me because they have all the equipment.

Food Before and After Photos

Ina Garten aka Barefoot Contessa has a great tip for cucumbers in tzatziki. Grate them on a clean kitchen towel and squeeze hard to remove most of the liquid. Works like a charm. She has another recipe I never tried, in this one she salts the grated cucumber and leaves it in a sieve for a few hours to drain. Tzatziki recipe
