I decided to be brave, or stupid to represent us older women. I am wearing workout gear not a bikini. I’m never going to have the same body I had in my 20’s through 40’s but I feel really healthy now. It’s never too late. I was born in 1960 (I’ll be 59 in 2 months) and this body has been through a lot lol.

Where are my water guzzlers?
Cheeseburgh replied to Vance-666's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I asked my Doctor why I could drink water quickly he replied, “You’re one of the lucky ones” -
I don’t know if this will make sense to you but it worked for me. I was not eating enough to gain weight on 600 calories a day, that is impossible. There were times I would step on the scale and the number would be a few pounds higher. Logically I knew I had not gained weight. I changed my thinking and told myself, “I weigh more today for some unknown reason” I stopped thinking in terms of weight gain it was just fluctuations. I started weighing myself less frequently and only on mornings when I felt “lighter “. It really helped me and kept me sane. Best of luck to you!

Headed off to the gym to do strength training. We have big storms headed this way so I’ll have to postpone my bike ride on the nature path. I hope it clears up enough to go later today. My husband got a bike too so I’m excited to have someone to ride around with. Mixing it up helps break up the monotony and boredom that I get while exercising. @Deedee12 You are off to a fantastic start! That was so nice of you to send the staff a thank you gift.

Where are my water guzzlers?

I could guzzle within a few days, I still do. -
Met my sister for breakfast this morning. Here is another Amazon dress. (It’s black so shut up lol)

PC free. Ipad Android phone. I pretty much let every company track me apparently.

I didn’t take a nap today but I slept in an extra hour and it felt great. My bike arrived today, however it has some assembly, I’m really hoping I can ride it tonight. It’s really cute. NSV from my Fitbit today!

Tip, (not that you asked) put the chickpeas in a single layer with some space, otherwise you partially steam them vs crisp them up. -
Today is my 1 year Surgiversary!![emoji1327]♀️

Congratulations! You and I had surgery a few days apart, amazing what difference a year can make. You truly look fabulous. -
There was a chill in the air this morning so I got to put on my new hoodie. I LOVE fall so I’m looking forward to cooler weather. Everyone looks amazing. I’m afraid this is about as fancy as I’m going to get today. We are staying home and grilling out tonight. Question: Are belts in style for women? My shorts and pants always slump down on me.

I really love your shirt too! You look great.

Grateful for this group
Cheeseburgh replied to Chiptress's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am grateful too. The Facebook groups I checked out weren’t for me, I think I posted once. -
You can do this, you recognized what was happening partly due to keeping a log. I know that is something I’m going to have to do forever. I have cherries and grapes in my fridge so I can grab something sweet, I have Good Thins crackers (the corn one) in my cabinet for when I really crave something salty and crunchy, 20 of them are only 88 calories. I also always try to have a protein ready to go in the fridge. Deli meat or even 96% lean burger taco meat that I made. I live by the rule; In 30 minutes you won’t care what you ate. It is so easy to slide into old habits, being aware and having options helps me a lot.

A real bike! It’s a 7 speed cruiser bike. It is being delivered tomorrow. I have an elliptical and a recumbent exercise bike at home. I still prefer the gym because I work harder there. Here is a picture of it. B side: I practice self care just about everyday.

Pre-Op Diet Day 4 Struggling with shakes.
Cheeseburgh replied to Alasyx's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Six months of shakes? My surgery center also required New Direction but only for the 2 week liver shrinking diet. I agree they are awful, kind of like half pudding consistency. I diluted them in a blender with decaf coffee to help. By the second week I switched myself to premier protein and didn’t tell them. I already bought and paid for the New Direction from them. I figure they had an agreement with that company. I’m usually a rule follower but the brand of shakes seemed motivated by something other than my health. -
I don’t know if this will work for you but it really helps me at night. I am a nighttime bored eater and I have to fight it a lot. Sugar free Ice Breaker cinnamon mints or cinnamon altoids do the trick for me. They really kill my appetite. Just be careful, if you eat too many your gums can get sore.

Can you define that?

I did 30 minutes of strength training this morning. I cut the weight in half for my leg stuff and did all the upper body at full weight. The trainer wasn’t there so I couldn’t give him the evil eye. I’m not planning any formal cardio today but I’ll probably go for a long walk tonight. Treat yourself. I ordered a bike for myself today, I’m so excited!

Here’s to a quick recovery @Deedee12. You’ll do great! @KarenLR75 Did I miss something? You’re in the hospital?

Show me yours.... Make your walk about the photo opportunity.

This isn’t anything spectacular, but I saw this tree on my walk today. I have no idea what kind it is, but I would love one in my yard! -

Great dinner tonight. I made Asian meatball lettuce wraps. Really easy to make. I just combined Perdue ground chicken with shredded wilted cabbage, scallions and minced water chestnuts. Added soy sauce, grated garlic, sesame oil (2 tsp) and sambal to taste. I don’t really measure when I cook. I do cook a small tester and adjust seasoning. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. I made each ball about 1 oz and served them with lettuce. I doubled the recipe so I have a big ziplock bag leftover.
