Fashion question: I’m in all boring dark today apparently! Anyway, my question is about my necklace. Is this something to be worn with a super casual outfit like this, or should it be worn with a more purposeful outfit? i forgot to attach picture...

I would gain weight I’m positive. I had to work HARD to lose weight even after surgery! I tried Weight Watchers prior to surgery, and lost maybe 2 pounds a month. I just have to suck it up and accept this is how I am now.

@sillykitty I’m making an Old Navy run today, I bought a few things online to pick up there because of the way they structure their sales. Yesterday I had to purchase online to get a 30% discount, not valid in stores. I might accidentally run into the houndstooth jacket/blazer you have. I’ve been eyeing that for a month. I forgot to buy it yesterday! my house is getting a makeover this weekend. We’re getting the first floor painted and I’ve never stressed about color more in my life. I swear I’m dreaming about Benjamin Moore. I hope I picked the right color.

What book am I most grateful for? The Outsiders. I had such a crush on Ponyboy. That was the first book I ever read for fun (age 12 or so) and it opened my eyes to a new world. I wish I could finish that sentence with the word literature! I tend to read trashy novels and true crime books.

I would like to introduce you to my metabolism starting around the age of 50. According to my Fitbit and MFP I have 600-1000 extra calories a day after I’ve consumed 1200. I stick to 1200 and my weight has been 126.4 to 127.8 for 2 months now.

My button pushers: English speaking people really should know these basics. I’m not the grammar/spelling police however some things make me itch. Too vs. to. Too means also. Add the o. your vs. you’re (you are) Contractions are your friend. Loosing vs. losing (Infinite screaming)

What part of nature am I grateful for? I’m going with the Great Lakes because I think with climate change this will be the sweet spot to live. I’m grateful I already live near!

My BMR was calculated at 1250, I believe it’s correct. I’ve been eating 1000-1300 calories a day for about 2.5 months now and my weight is stable. I’m not working out as hard as I should be, once I get motivated to jump back into that I’ll probably be able to up my calories. My metabolism seemed like it just switched off at menopause. Prior to that I could eat whatever I wanted and I never gained weight. So far I’m finding this range easy to stay in, I know that won’t last forever.

Every single time I watch a movie that is set in 1400-1800 ish, without fail I turn to my husband and say something about how uncomfortable that would be and how bad they must smell. The idea of being filthy while wearing wet wool gives me anxiety! Best memory. A few hours after my first kid was born I was alone with him in my hospital room. I just was in awe. All I could think of to say was “Nice to meet you”. He’s 31 now, and I couldn’t ask for a nicer kid. It was indeed nice to meet him. It was just as nice to meet my other kids, but this memory sticks out.

    Alcohol

I have an addictive personality. I felt like I was drinking too much about 4 years ago. I sought counseling and quit. My husband was actually kind of confused why I asked for help. I just knew I was headed in a dangerous direction. I haven’t had a drink since 11/30/15. I don’t attend meetings or anything but if I ever felt like I needed to I wouldn’t hesitate nor would I feel ashamed. I don’t miss it, other than brief fleeting moments and I really think it helps with maintaining my weight.

I’m pretty negative but I’m improving. Food I’m grateful for. I’ll pick a weird one but it really does help me. Old El Paso taco shells keep me sane. I love salty crunchy things and 2 of them are only 100 calories. I feel like I’m cheating when I have tacos, but they are less than 300 calories.

I have no idea what date I had my last cigarette. I tried to quit so many times before, I wasn’t convinced I would actually do it. My husband can tell you the day, date, year and time he quit 40 years ago!

Day 2. Welp. I went out to dinner and my salad had fresh hot deep fried croutons on it. I ate half of them and it was the best thing I’ve tasted in 16 months. I avoid all deep fried things but I could not turn down that surprise. My goal this month is to continue maintaining. Technology. I really like Waze and navigation technology, I’m old enough to remember getting very lost.

I quit 20 years ago at age 39, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. It was the first time I ever really gained weight because I switched to sunflower seeds and ate more in general. I did lose the weight once I got used to it though. (Before major menopause & chemo gain years later) I used a combo of a prescription drug, nicotine gum and patches. I have a weird personality, once I really decide to quit something I stick with it. It took me years to want to quit smoking enough to stop. Prior to that I was just going through the motions. Ask for help from any source that can help you, especially your Dr. I haven’t touched a cigarette since I quit and I don’t think I ever will. Looking back I think it took at least a year or 2 before I stopped craving them. I was not a part time smoker.

#1. I’m most grateful for my furnace today, it is cold and snowing here! I can skip everything on that list minus white bread/flour. I don’t eat it often but it is one of my few vices and I deserve one! eta: Gastric sleeve 8/18 maintenance

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

I make super low calorie ones with 96% lean ground beef. I use a dry spice mix which pretty much has zero calories, pico de Gallo, lettuce and 2 crunchy tortilla shells. Skip the shells add veggies if you avoid carbs or processed food. 4oz ground beef 120 2 taco shells (old El Paso) 100 other stuff total of 25 calories. Total 265

I’m so impressed with you runners, I have never understood the drive for that. My oldest son started running this year and is doing a half marathon in a week. Does anyone else get stuck in a rut? I tend to eat 1 thing a lot for awhile. It is usually a light version of an unhealthy thing. I have homemade-ish pizza about 4 meals a week now. I’ve moved on from tacos for now! Here is my pizza breakdown. It takes a little effort but it’s worth it for me.

Ugh, I had (dry) grilled chicken last night and I have had that nauseous stuck feeling since then. It seems so random, I have had very few days like this and did not expect it this far out. Back to drinking water and walking!
  25. Amazon has some really nice stuff that’s crazy cheap and cute, Old Navy during a sale can be cheaper than a thrift store and I try and take advantage of Kohl’s cash and promotions. Once I got to my goal weight I decided that comfy stretchy clothes are not my friend even though I love them. I am more active and eat less when I’m fully dressed. If I wear stretchy pants I don’t notice if I’ve gained weight until I put on a pair of real pants. I’ve always been that way, not going back! I do wear stretchy clothes to workout and later in the evening to relax.
