Went out to lunch and ordered a burger which is unusual for me, however I was told this place had incredible burgers so of course I ordered one. (Picture does not do it justice) It was awesome and I got full really fast. I ate about a third of it. It was a big ass burger. I’m 17 months out and it’s nice to go out and order “unhealthy ” food on occasion. I’m also glad that I still get full quickly. -

Exact same, I swear if I scrolled through old threads I’d find one that pretty much sums up with what you posted! -
@sillykitty What did you get that fit weird? I want to order a longer sweater and a couple other things.

Life Taken Away

I’m so very sorry, I lost a son at age 12 and it was and is very difficult. He would be 27 now. I’m only sharing this so you don’t feel so alone. I don’t know how you feel, having a child murdered is unfathomable. I do hope you take your time, seek help, find a support group and find friends that will just let you talk or not talk about it. -
@GreenTealael The baby shower outfit reminded me of an episode of Gilmore Girls. Lorelei: “What outfit goes better with baby?”

4.5 months post-op plateau/stall

Peanut butter is sneaky. Seriously, I had one week a few months ago where I started eating it everyday and “measuring” it. I gained 3 pounds! I’ve since lost it. I have it as a rare treat now. -
I will never eat popcorn again, I swear I gained 40 pounds from that food alone the year before surgery. I have a weakness for any kind of fried potato, I haven’t touched those either.

Please relax, he will be delighted with your progress!

Happy Birthday @MarvelGirl25 ! -
@AngieBear I got them on Amazon, they have a ton of different styles for less than $20-25

Since I’m painting, sanding or stripping something almost daily I bought cheap linen overalls. I haven’t used them to paint yet, they’re kind of cute and now I have to ruin them lol. Now I have to go check out Shein.

I swear we have the exact same taste in tennis shoes, I LOVE those!

Everyone looks so good! I haven’t bought any new clothes for awhile so I have nothing photography worthy. I started to get into refinishing furniture so I’m covered in various chemicals and paint most days. If I have a hobby or something to do on a daily basis I function much better and stay active. I did finally get off my wallet and ordered a few things, so I’ll need to find an excuse to wear them.

@Serengirl I checked my stats. I lost 34.8 pounds at my 3 month mark. Are you on any medications? I talked to my Dr after I read about a medication I was on (beta blocker) caused weight gain, I switched meds and it helped speed up my metabolism a bit. It wasn’t dramatic but it did help. I also switched up my diet and ate pretty clean for 3 months and avoided processed food. Keep moving, journal everything you eat and research any medications you are taking. -

I’m here to lend support, I lost slow but I did get there. It was super frustrating at times. I started working out and posting here around 6 months post-op and it really helped. I had many months where I lost 2-6 pounds. Here is my 1 year chart. 8/13/18 to 8/13/19. It looks smoother than reality, I didn’t record the slight bumps up and down. I was only eating an average of 700 calories a day and I knew I had not gained. I had to keep my head in the game and kept record of everything I ate. I still do. -
I tend avoid to NYE parties. I was invited to one this year but decided to skip it. I’m kind of regretting it now!

I actually let myself indulge a bit and had a few sugar cookies a couple chocolates and a snickerdoodle over the past few days. Stayed within my calories and no weight gain. It feels good to have enough confidence to occasionally eat junk! It took me awhile to let go of “letting go” a little.

5 days post op! My story this far.

Run don’t walk to Aquaviva when they have Cream of chicken soup for soup of the day. (We live in the same area) I ate it strained one time then advanced to the next phase and didn’t strain it. I’m pretty sure I had it once a week for a few months. Warning, it’s a bit rich and might bother you if you have a sensitive stomach. I swear they put crack in it, it is super good. -

I tend to get a sweet tooth at night a few days a week, this combo really helps me keep it in check. -

Wild Saturday night here! Decaf ice coffee with sugar free creamer and real Redi-Whip (is that an oxymoron?). Total of 45 calories yet it feels so indulgent. -

I’m doing really well. My son got some fudge for a gift and I asked for a piece. I took a small bite and ditched the rest. It wasn’t the really good fudge, it tasted more like melted chocolate chips, therefore wasn’t worth the calories. I planned our Christmas dinner and it was easy to do a pretty healthy one, we are having boneless pork loin. I’ll definitely have some desserts and bread but I’m going to be picky about it!
