Hey there July siblings!!
I am 15 days out from my RNY GB. Surgery date July 12th. Yesterday was my 2 week check up and all went great. (Other than I am clearly a “slow loser.” 😔)
The surgery went great. One day in the hospital. I certainly felt it that day, but I came home feeling pretty good and encouraged that I was going to rock this thing. 2-3 days later a sharp pain the bottom left part of my stomach said something all together different. That pain has no dissipated and I’m now having some pain in my back. I haven’t lost as much as I thought I would, but I have the energy of a skinny 25 year old, so there’s that.
I transitioned to purees yesterday. I’m starting to think my bypass may be broken. Lol. Everything I put in my mouth goes down ok, except water of course. Pre-op I loved Water, but it now just feels heavy to me. I’m getting my protein and fluids in, but mainly via Powerade zero and crystal light. I actually miss plain water.
I am feeling good and excited about our journey. I did this to have a healthier life with my kids and dear Husband, so I am patiently waiting to see health improvements. I am not 40 yet, so I’ve got so much life to live and time to enjoy this new body I’m waiting for.
This site has been so very encouraging. Thank you all for being so honest and willing to share. 💛
