Went and got a fill two weeks ago, Finaly have restriction! But I have been really good drinking my protein shakes and eating small meals of Protein first and then veggies. I dont think I eat over a cup of food in any meal. But Im keeping my liquid intake and protein intakes up. I havent cheated and had anything wrong. But after two weeks I have only lost 4lbs. This is soooooo frustrating! I feel why am I doing this to myself? No one else has to eat so little. UGH!!

No, im drinking the protein shakes as a meal, Not with meals. I do eat a protein meat at each meal though, Chicken, Tuna, Eggs.

Ok, so I have had 4 fills and was at 6cc in a 10cc band. I was almost at my sweet spot. I went on my 9 month appointment and told the doc I was almost at my restriction. He said good and then he gave me a 1cc fill. I drank a cup of water and things were fine. Day and a half later I couldnt even swallow my own spit with out PBing. Ofcorse it was a friday and I had to work all weekend, I didnt want to get really sick so I called the doc's office. They had me come in, I was seen by a diffrent doc. I told her if she would just take out .5cc that it would help. I didnt see how much she took out she told me it was just .5cc. but she had a hard time getting into the port. And now I have no restriction at all! Is it possible that she could have broke the tip of the neddle off in the port and it floated into the band and put a hole in it? Or do you think she just took alot more then .5cc's out?

I would agree that its fine tuning but I had restriction before just not as much as I would have liked, and now I dont have any what so ever so thats my problem.

Ok, I have had two fills so far. I was dissapointed about the last fill cause the doc only put in 1cc and i was hoping for 2-3cc but what ever. So for all of you out there whos at restriction, what is it suposed to feel like? I have issues with swallowing but I thought that is just because I dont chew well enough sometimes. Can someone tell me what it feels like? thank you

The Good News and the Very, Very Bad News
memeluv replied to nebraskahickchi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm not 100% sure but I have always been told that full time employment is based on how many hours you are scheduled to work not what you end up working. Companies have to offer insurance to employee's that work or are scheduled to work 32 hours or more. If you were scheduled to work more then 32 hours a week then you should have been covered. Even if you took sick or vacation time. Vacation time is considered worked hours. I agree with the others I would check into that cause it sounds like your getting screwed. Good luck! I hope that you can prove your job wrong and they have to give it to you. -
I'm waiting for the day when my size goes down too! I know the scales going down but not my clothes. LOL! Im thinking I need to lose quite a bit before it happens. But sure would be nice to see. Hang in there!

I haven't been on this group forum in a while. But I read through this thread and it just suprises me. I guess its because I have never come across a lesbian that is all about looks. Yeah we all check out the hot chicks but when it comes down to it we settle down with a personality. I have been with the same girl for 14 years. Threw thin and thick! And now hopefuly thin again soon. We love each other, so looks don't matter!!!!! Yeah I went after her beacuse of her looks back in the day but shes the same person she was back then and so am I. We both have gained alot of weight over the years and we both want to lose it. But I never once said uh hun your fat, think you could lose some weight? And she has never said it to me. We both are more like as long as your healthy I dont care what your size is. Love is not about size or about looks, love is unconditional. If a person want another person to lose weight to look good, there is no love there what so ever!!!!! Readysteadygo, your reply post to her is great. I think this chick is a selfish pig. She must be a straight male asshole in lesbian clothing. LOL!!!

You know, I don't have an answer to your post but I do have to say I am very ticked off that I haven't been able to be in my pool much this year!!! Oh wait, this lake that formed in my back yard might work!!!! LOL!

Isopure fruity drink thingies...
memeluv replied to MicheleK's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I must be odd man out I like Isopure, I drink half a bottle at a time in a glass of ice. taste like gatorade to me. I also like thier shakes. I get all mine at GNC they sell them in singles. The shakes are REALLY good with a half of bannana in them. But I think youll have to try all kinds to see what you like best. Like I said I like Isopure and I know of other ppl who also like it, but its all in what you like. -
More things I won't miss about being fat.
memeluv replied to Wendy B's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1. I wont miss not being able to use a normal bathroom stall (always have to use the handicap stall cause I cant wipe in the normal stall. TMI? lol) 2.I wont miss not having anything to wear to weddings. 3. I wont miss every one telling me just go on a diet (like I havent tried every one in the book already) 4. I wont miss avoiding my friends because im ashamed of myself. 5. I wont skip out on theme parks because I can't fit on the rides. 6. I wont miss getting nasty looks in the super market. Just to name a few. LOL! -
OK, So I bought the Isopure fruit drinks. The flavor is not all that bad. But I after a while I start getting a weird burning sore feeling in the back of my throat. So I think I will cut it down to 10oz in the am and 10oz in the pm. The powder Isopure isnt that bad either, I bought the Dutch chocolate. I mix it with skim or 1% milk for now. Doc is allowing me 24oz's of 1% milk a day so untill I have to use water, its will be milk for me. The fruit drinks taste like a koolaid with fake sweetner. The Chocolate powder taste like weak chocolate milk.

Isopure drinks, shakes and the clear fruitie drinks. Are they any good or would you rather drink dirt? They have the most protein then any other drink but if it taste like doggie doo then I dont want it. Any comments on Isopure?

OK, so now in the news is Lindsay Lohan and her "girlfriend". So the pap. caught her making out with Samantha Ronson. Big deal! Who cares and Why is this such a is she or isn't she thing? Leave her alone, geez! I know this has nothing to do with the lapband but, its been bugging me.

Ok, so I met with the surgeon today he said that I have a total of 175lbs to loose to be at my ideal weight. He said that if I do the lapband I can only take off about 50lbs and that Id still be obese. I want the lapband because I am self pay and it is less risker. Also I am in fairly good shape for my size I dont get out of breath walking and Im able to run for a distance with out dying. I just need an extra push to get me going on my diet. He is going to let me get the Lapband but said I should be realistic about loosing weight. Now I have seen alot of people on here that have lost over 100lbs, am I not being realistic about my goals? I just want to loose a 100lbs.

Thank you all for your post. I know I can lose the 100lbs I am really ready to do this. The doctor is a partner to the surgeon that did my sister-n-laws GB RNY. He is going to let me get the LB but I felt like he would have rather me do GB. Which I will not even consider. I all ready met with a nutritionist, need to set up my appointments with psych. then just a few pre-op test, not to many. Just glad to hear from you all that it is possible to lose more then 50lbs. Thanks so much.

things to do before your surgery
memeluv replied to DonniePyle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not to be crass and I am sorry for your loss, but comming from a medical back ground, Im going to have to say that your husband had some other medical problems and most likely died from that and not the Band. Im sorry you lost him, but I would really look into finding out what happened other than the Band. -
Seminar down-1st consult 06/03/08
memeluv replied to memeluv's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the info. What do they go over when you go in for your consult? And did they say what the time frame is from consult to surgery? -
Hello every one! I've been a lurker for like a year now, trying to get up the guts to actualy go through with the Lap Band Surgy. Well I'm finely going to start the process. I went to the seminar last night and the doctors office just call me to set up the 1st consult. I didn't expect them to call me so soon, but I am very excited! I am going to be self pay so I was wanting to know if there is any thing I should be aware of? :confused2: I Think they told me when I first called them a month ago that it would be 14,000. But I would like to know that for sure cause Im pulling out a personal loan for it and need to know if I should get it for more than 14,000 and how much more?
