im in California and have cigna. I was approved in 2 weeks. Would have been 3-days but see #1. 1. make sure the pcp sends a formal recommendation letter. this was the only thing that held me up. Cigna wanted it in a formal letter head. 2. the surgeon office confirmed the pre -stuff for me. Cigna required me to do 4 nutrition visits, psych eval, support group, formal recommendation from PCP, BMI requirements (listed in your post), co-morbidity (listed in your post). 3. my surgeon also has his own requirements

I my first mammogram last year, it did not hurt. I have one Friday pre-op. I will not have one until next yr and I already know mine will be smaller. When I was thin (cannot wait to be that again). I was boob-less. My cousin would say I had acorns lol.

OMG its getting closer! Final labs and EKG are tomorrow. I see surgeon NEXT THURSDAY to pick up my pre-op diet stuff...after next week no more food! OMG ITS HAPPENING!

Just my sister, 2 close friends, and 1 co-worker. And if anyone ask me how i lost weight, I will eating healthy.

I am scheduled to have both done but I have not had it yet. Glad to see there are minimum issues with it.

Today I have my GI xray and my lab work including stool test for h pylori. I've already had initial with surgeon and my nutritionist visits are all set up. I'm pretty excited. Im sure i am going to experience but i see a therapist now and she is prepping me and giving me tools to deal. I also use the Calm app for meditation. They have a great anxiety meditations!

Good news! I got the call my insurance (CIGNA PPO PLUS) approved me for surgery. I have scheduled my post op nutritionist visits but I am waiting for the scheduler to call me to schedule the actual surgery. The surgeon office says it will most likely be the week of Nov 18th and they should be calling me today! WOO HOO! Just a note on CIGNA, they will need a formal letter of recommendation from your PCP not the Surgeon. I could have been approved 2 wks ago but I had to chase down my PCP. But its all taken care of.. Stay tuned to see my surgery date post!

Update: My new labs are good and the surgeon cleared my labs. Iron and Calcium look good! Last thing to be cleared is my last appointment with the nutritionist tomorrow! I have no doubt it will, as I have lost 9lbs since doing the nutrition plan and I was not required to lose anything. My surgeon says once nutritionist clears me, he will submit me for surgery approval with my insurance company. It can take 3-days to 3 weeks. So I should know by the end of September. I cannot believe how fast this went!

sorry to hear about this. This sucks and is devastating. I cannot imagine going through this process AFTER checking and they deny you. Insurance companies are ass holes!
