16 days after surgery and I have lost 17 lbs so far. They say at this stage of pureed mode you go into a plateau. I am hoping for miracle weight loss!!! Most lose between 30-40 lbs in the proceeding 3 months after surgery but I hope to exceed that!!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Anyone in the Tacoma WA area?
TracyS replied to fulfillingfavor's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Less than a month ago I was 292. In 2 weeks on the pre OP diet I lost 16 lbs. So on April 3rd I weighed 276. This Wednesday will be a month after the pre OP and 2 weeks after the surgery. Today I weigh 263 so have lost another 13 lbs. Total 29 lbs. By Wednesday which will be a month on this journey I should weigh approximately 260 lbs. Basically a 32 lb loss in a month. Another tip is to put a little baking soda in anything with tomatoes. It will neutralize the acid and you won't get acid reflux. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

I am in Spokane. Just had my vsg on April 3rd. Losing a pound a day. Just FYI get metamucil and smooth move tea. It will help you tremendously as constipation and gas was the worst part. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I was told Miralax in the morning and smooth move tea at night has been the most successful.

Feeing hungry, post op week2
TracyS replied to curtains's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was also on the 3rd and was hungry so late 1/2 cup of creamy tomato soup instead of 1/4 cup. I still need to learn how to slow this down to 20 to 30 minutes as not much volume there to begin with. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Thank you, will look into that!

Well it's a good thing I had this done as apparently they found stage 4 cirrhosis due to fatty liver. It is still functioning but because of scarring it gets cut off of blood supply. Losing weight will help. Surgeon cut off fat from it. Not a good diagnosis. Thinking about taking castor oil which helps deplete scar tissue but at the same time I need scar tissue to mend stomach. Scary stuff! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I had surgery yesterday. Nausea everytime tried to drink or walk. Right rib cage and right shoulder really hurt. Though incisions didn't bother me much. But the tender core muscles was hard. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

TracyS replied to Tada69's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My center wants me to continue with shakes until midnight the day before surgery. They recently changed the rules from the clear liquid diet. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

It is but the more weight I lose now the easier it will be to get to my goal. Since no matter what I did and couldn't get below 292 I am elated I am now 279. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I was a little frustrated with a weight loss stall in the last few days but then saw some progress today. Have lost 13 lbs so far and have 6 days left to lose more before surgery. My goal is 20 lbs before surgery! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I have suffered from acid reflux in the past but found a cure for it. My problem seemed to come from tomato sauce. I spoke to an Italian friend and she told me that her mom would put baking soda in her pasta to neutralize the acid. I tried it and it worked! No more acid reflux! When my brother used to get acid reflux he used to drink baking soda in water and it made it go away. So Baking Soda can really help with this. Also Deglycerized Licorice or DGL found in any health food store really helps as well. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Water exercise ideas for weight loss, arthritis and chronic pain?
TracyS replied to polly...'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
I am super obese. Had a hip replacement. Currently need to have a total knee replacement and have tendonitis in both feet due to bone spurs. Not to mention back issues. My insurance paid for water therapy. At the end they gave me a whole work out routine. So I do that about 3 times a week. Often times I will also stay for the water aerobics class. You just do what you can to keep up. But it has helped with some of my issues and have lost weight. The goal is to keep moving even when you don't feel like it. Me too although they already put me on the 2 week pre OP diet which sucks btw.
